We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

NetherlandsThe owners of the hotel made everything possible to make you feel welcomed as a guest. Facility was great, clean, staff very friendly and supportive, simply said, you feel like home. The dinner in the restaurant was also very good, I can recommend to have dinner there at least once.

United KingdomI would have preferred a slightly thicker mattress.
This hotel is in a perfect location for visiting Maastricht and the surrounding countryside, as it's just a couple of minutes' walk from the train station. Despite this the location is very peaceful. The owners/staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful, even writing us a list of things to do in Maastricht. The hotel has a very comfortable, homely feel, and the food in the restaurant far exceeded expectations - we ate there twice in 3 days. Breakfast is also great, with delicious fresh bread, and eggs cooked to order. A few reviews mention neighbour noise, but our room (on the ground floor) was very quiet.

NetherlandsWe arrived on a very hot day and we noticed that the mattress is very thin on top of a (artificial?) leather base. This is very sweaty and not comfortable when it's hot. The room was not equipped with air conditioning but a fan is provided.
It's a family hotel with a personal touch. The owners personally welcome you and chat with the guests. The breakfast is good and the rooms are clean and sufficiently spacious. The location is great! You only hear birds if you keep your window open even though the railway station is just two minutes walking away. There are hiking and biking trails close to the hotel. The food in the hotel restaurant is very good but you can only get the menu of the day (choice of 2).

United KingdomVery steep stairs with narrow treads to bedrooms. Would be difficult for anyone with even a minor disability, particularly the second floor which has a steep, narrow winding staircase. We are fit and had difficulty manoeuvring our suitcases on the stairs. The standard double room we had was barely large enough for the bed. Suitcases had to be on the floor in the bathroom.
Excellent breakfast on first day although rude waitress on second day as we were 5 minutes early. There had been no complaints we had paid our bill early.
