We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesWe booked a last minute trip to Texel from Amsterdam and Hotel Kogerstaete was one of the few places available - but it turned out to be perfect. We had a big 1 bedroom suite which was great. Spacious and clean with high quality furnishings and finish. We ended up eating breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and they were both delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location is a 2 minute walk from the main pedestrian area in town and a short walk or bike ride to the beach.

Additionally, the hotel's central location was extremely convenient, allowing easy access to the beach, various dining options, and the bus station. This proximity made my stay both enjoyable and convenient.

GreeceA terrible smell was in the bathroom for the 4 days we were there. We asked the reception to solve the problem 3 times. They always responded very kindly but they never managed to actually solve the problem. The smell was unbearable most of the time. We had to put a towel to close the space under the bathroom door (which we always kept closed) in order to be able to sleep. I was expecting they would offer us another room but this didn't happen. We had to pre-order the breakfast for the next morning. This is a good idea in order to avoid throwing food away. But it was not very convenient because we did not know what exactly each item was by just seeing a list of items. We also were not able to select at which table to sit for breakfast or at what time we could have breakfast. Available times were restricted. Even though we pre-ordered from the previous afternoon what we wanted for breakfast, most of the times we did not received what we have selected. This happened almost every morning, not just once. Also they said it is possible to order extras during breakfast if we wanted, but this was not the case, not even for an extra ciabatta bread! Some of the waiters did not speak English and they did not understand what we wanted… they even kept speaking Dutch to us.
The room was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The balcony was very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The coffee machine in the room was very much appreciated.
