Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomBreakfast quite expensive. Up by 3.5€ pp since our last visit. The location is excellent in the centre of Haarlem. The staff could not have been more helpful. The rooms are pretty basic but have everything you need for a short break.

United KingdomThe noise from outside was very disturbing. The noise from the main street was also quite loud both at around midnight with people outside and then in the early morning with lorries and facilities moving around.
The hotel is in a very central location and great for meeting people in the centre of Haarlem. The rooms are basic and looking a little tired and warn. The staff are always welcoming and very helpful. The restaurant is a great little place to sit especially for breakfast.

Location is excellent. The room was comfortable and has a good shower. The bathroom a little old and warn. The room was very cold on entering but warmed up. Breakfast was expensive for what it was.

NetherlandsWe can hear people taking a shower in other rooms, the noise isolation is not great. The curtains on the window could be improved, there's quite some light in the morning. The shower doesn't have panels all around, so the bathroom floor is all completely wet after one shower. The mirrors in the bathroom are put for very tall people (I am 1.65m tall), it was not convenient. I didn't take the breakfast because 20 euros for a breakfast is just too expensive. Overall, it feels too pricey for the service.
The hotel is located right in the city center, the location is perfect! The room is a pretty standard hotel room with carperted floor and a renovated bathroom. I really appreciated the luggage storage service. The mattress is good and comfortable.

United StatesOn both occasions we did not get the superior (comfort plus) rooms as advertised on Booking. In fact on the second stay we requested a change of rooms. Both were drab and austere with a musty smell. Throughout much of the hotel the carpets are stained and worn. Our room key card became deactivated on most afternoons requiring a return to reception.
Over a 3 week period we stayed 6 nights on two occasions. Great location in the lovey Haarlem where everything is in easy walking distance within the central zone. Breakfast was good in the nice modern restaurant area. Some, but not all of the reception staff were friendly and helpful.
