Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomPersonally I don't like the "double bed is actually two single beds" configuration, but I recognise this a fairly standard configuration in European hotels.
The location of this place is super. It is super easy to access by car from the rear of the property and from the front it opens right onto a glorious canal, lined by old houses and warehouses that have been tastefully restored. The 5-10 minute stroll on the canal bank is delightful in this well kept area. If you want to access the beach that is less than 5 mins from the back entrance, up and over the dyke. The property itself is a converted warehouse with wooden floors and some steep steps with accesses between floors. I didn't notice a lift - but then I didn't ask nor need it. I was on the top floor an my room was in the eaves, but despite being 6'5" (196cm) I had no problems with any height restrictions or head bumps. The wooden floors do mean is can be a little noisy if other people are moving around in the corridor late at night or in the early morning. My room was basically furnished with three beds and a small storage unit, but it was comfortable and clean. The bathroom too was fully equipped and had a nice shower - again all very clean. Breakfast was a typical continental buffet style, but with plenty of options of breads, rolls, fruit, meats, cheeses, cereals and yoghurts. Coffee, hot water (for tea or chocolate) and a selection of juices were available too - with a fridge in the corner if you wanted a can of pop (at a small charge).

NetherlandsBooked a double room with one bed, got a room with two beds, feet to feet. Comment of owner: it's only for one night. Shower would be better than the other rooms, but can't give that one more than average.
Location is easy to get to, nice walk to the center and the beach. Price was good. Excellent beach club at walking distance. Breakfast was good, enough to choose from, not being used to normal filter coffee gave us the opinion this needs more attention.

JapanThin walls and especially a thin ceiling inevitably woke us up when breakfast began, because we heard doors slamming on our floor and every step in the breakfast room above our room. At least this way you can't miss breakfast by sleeping in.
Excellent service - the owner was very friendly and did go above and beyond to provide a good experience. The included breakfast was excellent. Location is very central, close to the city center and the beach.
