Food was quite appalling - nasi lemak rice was not cooked well and same goes with the pasta at the breakfast buffet. Gin and tonics were good tho. Kitchen really does need to step it up, staff and chef were however lovely and accommodating

Lovely location, quiet, very comfy beds. Love the plunge pool on the balcony.

Maybe the only complaint is that the non existent of a beach in front of the hotel due to the erosion. And we didn’t quite like the fact that the jet ski/water sports operators are located at the beach right in front of the hotel.

Lone Pine has a nice intimate vibe to it. It’s not too big nor it is too small. We love the setup and decoration. Our family suite was comfortable and well appointed. Maybe the pillows could be changed to something softer. All the staffs we encountered were very friendly and accommodating.

The premise could have more/better security. My observation, anybody can go up to the rooms without card access in the lift, and the fact that the lift comes first before the reception lobby, any unwanted access can easily be missed by the staff. That's my feedback on improvement for prevention. Other than that, my stay was great.

Love the serene atmosphere. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast spread was good, pool was good too. We enjoyed our stay here.

The hotel is on the busy 24 hour noisy coastal road. Penang island needs tourists but over the weekend it was 99% Malaysian weekend tourists and the hotel was heaving, we had a hard time getting breakfast and found some guests to be rude and pushy. The staff were clearly under a lot of pressure. It was noticeably quieter from Monday and much more pleasant. If you want a quiet break go midweek.

The hotel is pretty and right on the beach, however you can't really use the beach or swim due to jellyfish and shipping waste. The facilities are good, breakfast is great and the staff are friendly and polite. The room was a great size and we were upgraded on arrival which was a nice surprise, but the room really needs some attention especially the bathroom to get to the Marriott level we expected. It's a quiet hotel in the evening, you need to venture out to another place for food or entertainment. There's plenty to do nearby, and Grab taxis are easy and cheap.

Very minor thing.... Room doesn't come with hand towels or face towels. Needed to request each time and when the room was cleaned they weren't replaced and had to ask for fresh ones.

Great location, close to all of the shops, street food stalls and beach. Great pool area and brekkie. Room sizes were great and bathtub on the balcony was so good.

Disappointed that there were no hammocks any more. Also, very limited space in the room for putting clothes away.

I love this hotel and have visited many times, The relaxed ambience, lovely gardens, and exceptionally nice staff make this the best hotel in Batu Ferringhi. Poolside lunches and afternoon cocktails were a favourite!

There are also a couple of things that I found odd / less than satisfactory. * My pillows smelled of other people. In hindsight, I could have just called housekeeping to have them replaced, but I didn’t * No hand towels, only bath towels * Shower cleanliness - mold on the edges and on the corners and my shower drain cover was broken/missing * 3 out 4 pieces of cardio equipment in the gym was out of order. That's quite unacceptable.

There are a couple of things that are really special about Lone Pine: * The retro design and vibe * The rooms with balconies that directly face the sea and are close enough that you can hear the sound of waves * My room had a tub on the balcony! which is a pretty unique feature. Didn’t have a chance to use it though. * The poolside cabanas which are very comfortable and have a retractable canvas shade that blocks out the strong sunlight

Did not like the beach and sand. It did feel a bit dirty and there were rubbish seen on the sand. Breakfast spread was okay, not extensive, just okay. The tub outside the room looks a bit dirty, but also because it could be outdoor and it will get dusty easily.

Like the quietness and serenity of the entire place. The stay does feel like home and although the building has been around for many decades, it is still well maintained. It is the perfect place to be there to unwind and think about the meaning of life.

The breakfast could be better in variety. My friends and I are quite particular when it comes to pastries specifically. Could have been better. But the upside was that they made sure to keep certain food fresh by keeping it in the fridge cabinet. The other thing that threw us a little off was the person selling packages for jet skis and what not at the beach. Though I believe it's not the hotel's fault. The guy called us "bisu" for not replying to him but in total honesty we were all introverts and just did not want to be bothered during our trip. I did however replied to him saying I don't need it, but I guess he didn't hear me. Woops.

The staff were very welcoming. My friends and I enjoyed our stay here after a much needed vacation. The place is very well kept and clean. We would like to thank the concierge lady "Kak Su" for making the check in easy for us and for setting the tone of our stay. As soon as we talked to her we knew the staff were welcoming and very helpful.
