Wish there had been a washer (but the apartment contact helpfully let us know where we could find a laundromat, which was a short taxi ride away), and the 97 steps to our apartment on the 5th floor seemed very long at the end of a day of sightseeing. Completely outweighed by the location and character.

The location of the apartment was perfect - in the old town and near everything. The decor was fabulous and we appreciated Sherlock touches that showed someone knew the books! The apartment was huge with so much space and had a kitchenette with fridge, microwave and hotplate to use. The bed was large, and the double? triple? glazing meant we couldn't hear much of the noise or music from down on the street once the windows were closed.

Both the chandelier and standing lamp lights did not provide much light at all - because of their design and low voltage globes. It was particular uncomfortable because the living room was effectively facing a wall so it felt like to be in a dungeon at all times. The cornices in the living room were fully covered with birds poo so we could not even have the windows open to let some fresh air in

The beds were not directly uncomfortable but after 2 nights both of us adults started getting back pains, so maybe not the most ergonomic mattresses. Also, no elevator, which we kind of expected so no biggie.

The staff was extremely accommodating. Replied quickly both before and during our stay and really did their best to help out. Big rooms, nice and comfy when travelling with a toddler and you need to return to the room quite early in the evenings. Location was great too!

Loved the Sherlock theme, the rooms had a wow moment when we opened the door and right in the middle of Riga. Great stay and really enjoyed staying here would definitely recommend.

Nothing We were a few floors up which didn’t bother us but if you have mobility problems you may struggle as there is no lift

I had an amazing time at Sherlock Apartments. The location is perfect and the host reply very fast and was very helpful. The apt is huge and very clean! You can just walk downstairs and you are in old town in Riga, close to great restaurants and bars.

Minor observation. I would have liked more light. There were bulbs burnt out in the chandeliers in the main area. The window in the main living area did not let in a lot of light so having the light bulbs out made it darker.

The location was great. Walking distance to anything you would want. The apartment was clean and spacious. Easy to get in and unpack. Bed was comfortable and spacious.

Our room 4 was very loud on Fri and Sat night, but surprisingly our kids slept well and we were in a mood to stay up long and watch series, so we didn't care this time, lol. Other rooms are probably calmer, ours was right above the bar. Altogether Old Riga seems to be very nice and central and safe but that's not a calm place :) Also no elevator, for whom that's crucial
