It's the most unique experience I've with an accomodation. It's certainly not for everyone cause you might stay alone in the whole floor of the prison, but if you're into these kind of experiences then the place is amazing! The place's main function is as a museum, not as a hotel, so you have to be aware that you have to leave your cell before 9:00, before the museum opens, which is completely understandable. It's not adverticed, but I also got a private tour of the prison upon my arrival (around 10:00 pm) and the officer/guide/receptionist was amazing! Needless to say, don't expect comfort, expect an experience.

There are enough gadgets in the room: There is a refrigerator in the room!!(Actually it says everything!!!) Bed was ok, room and toilet & shower were large enough, there is a small desk, I cooked a coffee and tea with an electric kettle in the room. It is not that far away from bus stop(bus line 22, which comes from airport), walking 5 or 10 minutes by walk. Shops and city center are not far away (5 or 10 minutes by walk). Staffs were friendly. I definitely would like to stay here if I visit Riga again!!

Everything was fine but 1) Dining room for breakfast was so crowded. I recommend to eat breakfast earlier. (breakfast, itself, was fair enough) 2) tiny small things can get improved, for example soap was far away from washstand while it could be fixed closed to washstand. Or the bottom of shower was inclined too much, there could be a warning sign for avoiding any incident (I could fall down 2 or 3 times), while inclined bottom of shower is a good idea, considering drain.

The hotel is located centrally and easy to find (just 8 minutes walk from the airport bus station). The main train station as well as the regional bus station is a few meters away. A big supermarket, shopping center and the grocery market are also right in front of the hotel. Old town and the river can be reached by foot within 10-15 minutes. The room is very spacious, clean, with AC and tv. The bed and the pillows are VERY comfortable. The staff is also very polite and friendly.

The bathroom could have been cleaned a bit better. I discovered hair everywhere even on the wall! The breakfast area is in the basement and a bit tight and crowded. If you are claustrophobic you may not feel comfortable there. The buffet is quite good but more like warm food style. More fresh fruit would have been healthier. The ground in the entire hotel (corridors and inside the rooms) is wooden covered with carpet. The wood seems to be old/used because with each step on it makes a very loud noise which could have waken you up if you sleep light. A safe box in the room would be great.

A quiet and idillic place, perfect for a countryside getaway! Hosts were very nice and helpful, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen gave many options for cooking and there is a waterslide in to the pond. A very nice experience!

There were building works done outside the building, so during the day it was loud. I would check with the hotel before staying to see if the work is done.
