No air con bungalows are very basic so be aware if you’re expecting luxury, but great for the price and location. Food more expensive than mainland by quite a bit but think this is the same throughout the island due to having to transport it.

Staff were all very nice and the location is unbeatable, about 2 minutes from the pier they tell you to get the boat to. Beach very nice and only a 25 minutes from lazy beach. We booked a boat trip through them which was good too. Good all very tasty and cheap beer for an island. We had no air con room and weren’t too hot at night with the fan. They book the ferry for you which is really easy.

The room was lovely and right on the beach. Spacious and open, with some nice touches. AC was cold (5pm-8am ish). Shower is HOT, which you don’t really need, and runs at a trickle, although the outdoor bathroom was a beautiful space. It’s an island, so you should adjust your expectations accordingly and our main purpose in travelling there was to really take a break and switch off. Restaurant was okay. Food was average. Drinks were cold. We ended up eating most breakfasts and lunches at nearby Mangrove Beach/Dolphin Bay Resort where the food was consistently delicious. Dinner was usually one of the BBQ places further up the beach (15-20min walk). There is also a minimart. Service was not great. We asked for sheets twice for our son’s bed and they gave us a bath towel instead. Okay then. When the water was cut off to our room one night, they didn’t respond or help when asked. The room wasn’t serviced for the week, which is our own fault for not requesting it. They don’t do laundry so we took ours to Mangrove Beach. Staff didn’t seem in a hurry to help out, which is a shame because the communal areas didn’t feel very welcoming so we spent our time in other establishments. The grounds are really well maintained, staff swept up debris and rubbish with every tide and there are plenty of hammocks and swings to laze about it. A 30min walk to Lazy Beach is definitely worth it for a swim, as is Sunset Beach. Both have crystal clear waters.

A/C can only be used from ~17:00-07:00, which is not a big deal when you can be by the ocean all day, but we were traveling with our daughter and would have been nice to utilize for naps but we used the lovely hammocks. And the mosquitoes were numerous.

Great location right on the beach. They also use paper straws, which is great after seeing the abundance of plastic on the beach.

The only negative is that we only booked six nights and we have to leave to go home.

Paradise Villas is set among trees and gardens right on the beach. Our room was comfortable & clean and we had aircon during the night, so sleeping was comfortable. The restaurant menu was varied and delicious - easily as good as more expensive accommodation where we have stayed on this trip. We did a lot of hiking on the island and swam right in front of our villa. The staff have been amazing. :). :). So friendly and helpful. :) Communication was super quick when I asked questions via Booking.com. Our Island Speed Ferry was booked for us and so was a boat trip we did with another business on the island.

The WiFi did not reach our room. The beach itself was a bit disappointing - rather polluted from various things but this is not the hotel’s fault

We had a very brief stay and were barely at the hotel however, it was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the food was good.

An absolute bargain in the best location on the island

The eco resort style meant that the amenities were a lot more basic than the nice hotels in Phnom Penh but for the price you pay, it's still a massive bargain. You also have to be prepared for wildlife, e.g. geckos, to enter your room as they regularly will. There were no cockroaches at all though, which was great.

The location could not be better. You were literally metres away from by far the best beach in Koh Rong Sanloem. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly too. I also highly recommend the restaurant on site. The food was consistently delicious.

Being near the forest the place is full mosquitos. The price maybe a was a little too high for our type of room.

The location was in front of the sandy white beach next to paradise pier. It is in front of the sea and next to the forest. The main all is very nice with a good view where enjoy your meals, the chef Is the best we found in 2 weeks in cambodia,we ate there for 4 days and every meal (international or not) was great! The staff is polite and always ready to help you. The wifi in the main all is good but no wifi in the rooms

It is a long walk along the beach of Saracen Bay to anything else and a long walk across a dirt track with no shade to the other side of the island. Due to weather we didn't end up leaving the resort for the 3 nights we were there. The island has a bit of a ghost town feel so I'd consider this before committing to coming here.

Staff and the restaurant are lovely and not too expensive for an island (still 2 times mainland prices). We got an eco villa which was nice but especially in the bathroom you will have to deal with bugs. The beach in front of the resort is nice and incredibly quiet but does have some odd but natural red/ green water on it and flowing into the ocean.

Everything was super. Place was clean, peaceful. Staff very welcoming and friendly. The rooms do not have hot shower but, as they stand in the peaceful nature, it seems appropriate! I didn’t feel the need for it. You can hear all the little beautiful nature noises from the room and it was very clean and well-maintained. The rooms had no WiFi but the main room was so beautiful and spacious, you could chill easily in the area with your phone or laptops if you needed connection. I definitely would stay again!

    Paradise by name and nature...
    • Leisure trip
    • Solo traveller

    • Stayed 2 nights

This place is a little slice of heaven. Koh Rong Sanloem is genuine paradise. Only accessible by ferry from Sihanoukville - not developed enough yet to have its own airport, thankfully. Paradise Villas is literally the closest property to the jetty after you come off the ferry, which is kind of handy, as dragging a suitcase across sand is hard work. The main reception area/bar/restaurant is a big, old-school, charming wooden construction with solid wood tables and wooden seats all around, but covered with big comfy cushions. In front of that is the beach, which, when I went, was deserted. I had the entire beach to myself, bar the odd person walking past. And the water is completely still (not a single wave), crystal clear, and almost the temperature of a bath. The bungalows themselves are all to the right of a path that winds through a tropical garden... and at night that garden comes to life, with all sorts of frogs and lizards and insects chatting away to one another. The bungalows are kind of charming wooden constructions, with tin roofs and a wooden veranda at the front. There is no air con, only fans, so they can get a little hot unless those fans are right on you. Also, I couldn't get any hot water out of my shower - only cold. But it's so humid, you don't mind. As it's remote, the power does sometimes go off, so be warned. Also, Paradise Villas is isolated from the rest of Saracen Bay, so be prepared to stay on/around the property. If you wander down the beach at night to try to get to other places e.g the couple of bars and restaurants that are there, you will likely fall into one of the deep (as in, waist deep) inlets that line the beach... and give up.
