Great location, near to Hakodate station and maximum 30 min to Hakodate Mt. cable car. Morning market is next door to the hotel. Everything else is good and enough for short stay

Breakfast was basic but not too expensive so you get what you pay for.

The location is great. It's only a short walk away from the main train station and within walking distance of many of the tourist spots. Even the spots which are a bit further out are still easily reachable but tram or bus. The staff were friendly and the hotel room was comfortable.

Location! As always, Toyoko Inn is always very near to station and it is very convenient. This Hakodate Ekimae Asaichi is very near to morning market and the pier area. Lots of great restaurants around. The room is also of good size for Japanese standard

- You can hear people talking in the hallway - The television is on an inconvenient angle for watching from the bed. Maybe hang it on the wall opposite the bed? - No socket next to the bed (so charge your phone beforehand, no problem then 😊)

Very lively street! It is about a 5 min walk from JR station, straight ahead so even for people who are navigationally challenged (like me :-P) you can’t miss it! The Morning Market and a Lucky Pierrot are in this street. Tip: visit the market to the right of the Morning Market Breakfast (included) is fine! Mostly Japanese so if you do not like this, maybe visit Mc Donalds. If you go early to breakfast, the line may be very long. By 7.30, the line will have gone. They offer many free amenities in the lobby! Also free printing! Which is nice in itself and it was extra nice that when I could not manage, the lady from reception came to my aid. All in all, the staff are very friendly. The rooms work. Loved the water kettle and mini fridge there. Cleaning was perfect! Heads up (I did not pay enough attention) on the 4th day of your stay your room will be cleaned. If you do not want this, tell reception! I did not do this so could not use my room for a couple of hours and also, I left the following day so it was a waste of the ladies’ time.

The check-in time is at 4 pm, which is too late for me. The staff offered me early check-in at 3 pm if I join the hotel's membership program, but I forgot the membership fee, which I think is around 1600 Yen. Unfortunately, the membership can't be shared with others, only the applicant. I find it unfriendly that I have to pay for the membership before even checking in. Honestly, I don't see many benefits from this membership, so I regret joining it.

Hotel breakfast was ok. The location is convenient, as it's only a short walk to the morning market area, where you can find a wide variety of seafood and fresh fruits. Additionally, the hotel is close to the Hakodate JR station.
