Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe rooms were a bit outdated. The bathroom was very small. Whenever you took a shower, the water was everywhere. Also the bathtub wasn’t draining properly and the drains were rusty.
The location was central. Close to metro and shops. They had a very nice bar downstairs with free beer or lemon sour hour. Staff was very helpful.

JapanThe bathroom was a little bit cramped, and didn't have a working fan in it, so it took a long time to air out after taking a shower.
The Lively is a stylish hotel with a nice restaurant and bar on the first floor. The food was great (albeit a little expensive) and the staff were nice, and spoke English.

AustraliaBathroom was small and chair in the room only served as bag stand. Free drinks in the lobby was a furniture shuffle and a bunch of people on their phones. Not great, but it’s something for nothing, so hard to complain, I guess.
Very good location. Fukuoka is an incredible city and this hotel is on the doorstep of everything.

JapanWhile the area has lots of shops you might want to go to (convenience stores, chain food stores, donki etc), the area can get a little seedy a few streets down if you go down that way. If you're concerned about walking around those kinds of places, make sure to check ahead.
Very stylishly decorated hotel which feels newly refurbished. None of the fittings seemed old or outdated. Front staff were friendly and accommodating, they seemed to be able to speak English as well (although I spoke to them in Japanese). Very closely located to one of the main train lines, which is very convenient.

United StatesFurniture in the room was weird - designed to save space but just a little inconvenient to use (shelves that slid in, etc.) Meanwhile, the bed had the opposite problem - the headboard design took up several inches of the bed so my feet hung off the end.
Clean and quiet room, good water pressure, nice lounge/co-working area on the second floor

United StatesFor me personally, while I liked the lounge area, the music could have been a bit softer. I know the hotel's name has the word "Lively" in it, but I like a chill vibe with chill music in a lounge type area.
The staff were wonderful. I liked the fact that they offered happy hour at 17:30 daily with free beer. Nice touch. My room was very clean and efficiently organized. You get a choice to choose between 4 main meals for breakfast; I had eggs benedict daily so you get a good protein meal in addition to quiche, salad and fruits.

Been here for the second time and will surely return! Modern rooms with stylish furniture, all in very good condition. Rooms are a little small but still big enough for suitcase to fit. Free Beer at the bar every evening, nice to interact with other guests! Very central, 10 minute walk to Jattai area. Staff is very fluent in English, very nice Bar staff, too.

United StatesAbsolutely nothing. This hotel is excellent.
This hotel was just too cool for me and my nerdy friends, LOL. It really was a blast to stay here. The rooms were great. They felt roomy despite being the typically small room you see in Japan. I never felt like I was cramped. Plenty of outlets and usb plugs for charging. Wi-Fi worked really well. Our rooms (9th floor) were super quiet.

GermanyCleanliness of the room has room to improve. Dusty behind door and on the bed frame. Toilet and bathroom seen better day, very old and the sink is partially broken. Certain staffs served at the bar was not as warm to hotel guest as the rest.
Location is very good, the airport line subway is right at the corner, about 2 mins walk. The vibe in the hotel is great, they served free beer and drink between 17 30 to 18 30 for hotel guest. Reception staffs are friendly. The bed is comfy.
