We arrive at hotel at 1pm and staff told us the check in only at 3pm. We have to wait at the lobby for check in when everyone else who arrive later than us at 2pm all check in already. They didn’t even bother to come over to inform us that we can check in already. Very bad service, staff not well versed in English too. After paying parking fee during check out, we are stuck at carpark because the gantry did not detect our payment.

Well located (10min walk from Fukuoka main station), incredibly designed and with top notch service, Basics Fukuoka is a great experience for everyone. Their room service has different options to care for the environment that are well explained, so you can opt into any preferred option. It was a gym with cardio machines as well as a leg press, chest press and pulldown machine. They also have yoga mats, foam rolls and free water. My bathroom had a bathtub (including free bath salt) as well as a separate shower which I both enjoyed.

The hallway is absolutely as stunning as in all the photos which is why, besides the location (quite close to the Hakata station), I chose it. The room was very big and so was the bathroom and everything was very clean. The bed was comfortable although I prefer the more Japanese style — this one was more western, to be expected with the decor. The staff were very nice and helpful as always.

The lighting options in the room were very limited.

It’s a beautiful place at a good location. The hotel faces a park that’s full of cherry trees. The lobby is a little wonder.

One a key a room, we had two rooms and both my husband and I wanted keys to the others room- we have three kids and had to split in the bedrooms for sleeping arrangements. We were told, “only one key a room”.

No complaints at all about the hotel, its location nor the wonderful city of Fukuoka.

This is a comfortable hotel with larger than normal rooms, good beds and pillows, amazing staff, and a bath tub you can actually extend your legs in. A big thank you to May at the front desk, who was wonderfully helpful with finding us everything we needed during our stay. Her warmth and good humor made us feel at home. The location is an easy walk from Hakata Station on smooth (luggage wheel friendly) streets and a couple blocks from great coffee. Oh, and the selection of art books in the lobby are a great way to spend a some time waiting for taxis, spouses and or children.

Location is not very close to the station but in a way is good, the area is not so crowded but need a 5-10 mins walk from Hakata station which we dont mind.

This hotel was a great find! Excellent location to the train station and a short trip to the airport. Room was lovely and the breakfast exceeded expectations. Staff were very helpful and the hotel was so clean.
