The receptionist Miyuki was very attentive, she asks all relevant questions and answers all of our tourists last minute questions. Despite just staying for one night, Tanuki has left a long lasting memory for me and my wife, we can’t wait for our next holiday with Tanuiki

AustraliaIt was our first time to visit Nozawa and we knew there wouldn’t be much snow, but we didn’t realise that most of the town would close down on 31/3, including the snow monkey half day tour, which was one of the main reasons we went up there. The hotel itself was lovely, but their bar had closed, also the teppanyaki restaurant, leaving only the cafe and the sushi restaurant open. There were so few places left trading in town from 1/4 that we couldn’t get in anywhere for dinner, other than the sushi place upstairs. It was amazing but well beyond our budget. We ended up leaving after just one night and forfeiting our second night’s accommodation as it was “non-refundable”. Such a shame that the hotel and booking.commute not more transparent about the destinations offerings when they take the booking
A great place to stay in Nozawa. Very spacious rooms, central location for Oyu Onsen and the Main Street.

AustraliaNot much of a soundproofing between rooms. First couple of nights were ok with considerate neighbours but on the last night, we had people next door talking real loud all night and could hear every word, every cough and sneeze.
Amazing location. Great food and shops. Close to walks and short distance to ski area. Nice areas nearby for walks too. Staff were friendly and always helpful. We had the teppanyaki dinner on Christmas eve and it was amazing! Authentic, clean comfortable stay and we look forward to return.

JapanThe hotel was a little understaffed but it makes sense because it was off season. The food was alright, but it was a little expensive for the quantity in the downstairs cafe but it didnt matter to me because we got a coupon for the first breakfast anyways and to be fair the brownies they had looked massive and super filling. Honestly just being nitpicky. The bunk bed was a bit of a struggle though, slammed my head when my alarm went off and fell off when climbing down, although my friends got a good laugh out of it.
It was an amazing location right by some great onsens! As I went off season woth my friends, it was a lot cheaper than usual but it was amazing even without the snow. The room was nice and cosy, especially with the fire heater and the beanbags where we played cards and relaxed after our hike into the mountains. The staff were nice and it was a fab time.

CanadaThere is no elevator and only stairs. So please pack accordingly, but you can easily just leave something downstairs and get it later Keep in mind breakfast is just 1 item and 1 drink! It's not a buffet, however the Japanese breakfast was so good!
Very welcoming woman at the front desk who reccomended places to go The air con was on as soon as I walked into my room! Well sized room, love the decor, good bathroom (watch your step.) Great location! Beautiful view from my room. Lots of English speaking folk in this area as well. You get to choose 1 meal and 1 drink for breakfast which is located downstairs. Lots of amenities . Wifi works alright but isnt the best. better reason to explore the area! Great onsens everywhere! However the one across the street burned my foot...theres a more tolerable one like 10 minute walk away though! Once again ask the staff. The foot onsen up the hill was my favourite, less than 5 minutes walk. Such a beautiful area, so safe to walk around at night!
