Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeNothing much.
I booked a corner room but it has a weird layout. It is not a typical hotel but the bedroom and the bathroom are at a separate space which you need leave the bedroom, walk 5 seconds along the corridor in the room to reach the bathroom. Not complaining, it's my fault did not check the room layout at first. It has comfortable bed though and the best hotel you can get around that area. Very helpful, efficient and polite staff.

United StatesThe building is definitely dated, but well-maintained so not much to dislike.
Enjoyed our first time staying at Shin Furano Prince Hotel. Everything we wanted was on site: Easy access to the ski slopes, rental shop, laundry, onsen and spa services, convenience store... you name it. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of offerings, key highlights being the omelette station and the assortment of fresh pastries. The room was spacious with a nice view of the mountains. Very much enjoyed the spa services and the woman who did my services was so funny and kind! I would stay here again. Added plus, this hotel was easy to navigate with minimal Japanese, but I'd still recommend trying your best to know conversational Japanese.

MalaysiaGreat location for Bonpow activities, top notched ski in ski out facilities, best ski school and rental services ( especially Sportpia Furano & Furano Snow School )with English speaking instructors and very helpful staff like Ariji san who patiently advised me on which snowboard attire and equipments to pick and rent and help me to pack them nicely in a very nice bag, store them while I went for Ramen nearby, and very thoughtfully advised me on ski techicalities, safety precautions and gears for snowboarding. Breakfast spread is simply amazing. The orange is cut at a specific way to enhance consumption pleasure. Good choices of restaurants, eateries and coffee ateliars nearby. ( Sugiyama Coffee is a dream, very reluctant to share but its so good it beats my conscience not to ). Reception at Lobby is always ready to help out and cater for all my requests including helping to book very reliable taxi to onsen at the tip of the mountain one and a half hour away. Feeling very blessed, grateful and pampered to be able to stay at such a wonderful place.

AustraliaRoom was a bit too hot, and there was nowhere for apres ski. Pretty much back to the room after skiing. Really only one ramen restaurant on the ski area, but still fun.
Ski in ski out, and had everything there, even though it was hotel prices, it wasn’t over the top. We caught the local bus to Furano for dinner which was a great Japanese experience. Make sure you have cash for the bus, and restaurants

JapanIt would have been good for some restaurants to have a la carte instead of just set menus.
Location was excellent for ski in/out. Fantastic set up with lockers on GF where you come in from a days skiing, provided for you to store skis, etc. wonderful having the Onsen which we frequented each morning and afternoon. We ate at various restaurants in the hotel and the food and service was excellent.

United KingdomThese are just some suggestions on improvements. I was by no way disapproving of the hotel. I just think there are room for improvements that can make the experience even better. Room: The furniture is a bit dated, whilst well kept and clean, some changes could make this go way better. E.g. carpet change or deep clean. Sofa change or deep clean. Electrical outlets are enough for the modern lifestyle but there's constantly a buzzing sound of the current which makes guests a bit nervous. Some rooms have nice powerful hair dryer (my brother in law and his brother shared a room with good hair dryer when they both have short hair) and some have built in wall very weak hair dryer (my sister and I with long hair had to use that!). Breakfast: Breakfast buffet calls last order half an hour before closing time and pretty much they start packing up at half past. Just something to be aware of. Shuttle: Could do with a few more shuttles to and from town. Particularly in the evening, we either had to rush to finish dinner and or shopping to catch the last shuttle at 9:15 from the station back to hotel or take a taxi. We ended up calling Uber on the last few nights! Ski area: There was only one magic carpet (out of two) for beginners that was on the whole week I was there even as number of skiers and snowboarders started to increase. So if you're trying to practice in the baby area you spent most of your time carrying your equipment up the slopes when they could have just turned the second higher up magic carpet on as well. Especially when one side was reserved for classes in the morning and the magic carpet only opens for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
This is a ski in ski out hotel with ski equipment rental onsite and a buffet restaurant in the hotel should you want to stay in for meals. There's a bonus onsen as well. There is nothing to not love about this hotel. Staff are friendly as per Japanese custom and they all speak good English which makes it very comforting for guests. Buffet selection is generous and sumptuous covering both Japanese and Western style. The souvenir shop in the lobby carries not just souvenir but also small selection of quick meals and rice balls should you just want to have a quick meal of that or instant noodles. Good selection of bottled drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Large bottled water isn't that expensive either. You can even microwave the food you bought there in the shop. if you forget anything such as plugs, adpators, toothbrush, etc., you can find them all in the shop. The equipment rental cost is very reasonable and affordable given that it has a captive market. The state of the equipment is also very good, well kept and well maintain. Skis are in near new condition. They even rent clothes in various sizes so you wouldn't have to worry about carry extra luggage if you're conscious of luggage weight. I would recommend this hotel every time.

New ZealandSince the establishment has been in business for a few decades now, the decoré looks a bit dated and finishing looks tired. Despite the hotel being relatively sizable, the lanudry space is very limited. It becomes somewhat of a problem if you are staying a few days and need to have some fresh clothes.
Comfy beds that are great for recuperation from a busy active day in the snow. The room was very well insulated thus keeping a nice warm temperature despite the outdoor condition. Never did I see any crying windows in the morning! A lovely selection of tourist attractions just outside the hotel for non-skiiers. The Ningle Terrace, Kan Kan Mura, Morinotokei, etc...all make the stay enjoyable and special.

SingaporeWe went all the way to be able to ski. However, we were a little disappointed that we couldn't do any ski due to early closure of the ski lane at 3pm and that there isn't any night ski option during this period. It would have been nice to have night ski as well.
liked very much the walk at Ningle Terrace - romantic with snow falling . the whole place is magical and very instagrammable.

Hong KongI drove to the hotel and my arriving time was peak at 5pm. The driveway was jam and it took 15 mins get to hotel car park which i found the hotel guest car park was almost full. I consider the flush toilet was problematic. After early breakfast I went back to my room and use the flush toilet. The flush toilet didn't work perfectly and I found the toilet water and stool spill on the floor. I spent 45mins to negotiate with hotel staff for room change. I had to repack my luggage for security and hygiene concern in the same room. Eventually I swap to another room at the end of the day. For this reason I had to keep my ski coach waiting until this issue is settled and my ski class time was shortened.
Overall experience was nice and ski friendly. It was Xmas time but the ski area traffic was better than I expected. Two rental shops nearby, some waiting time is needed and suggested to get there early. Ski rental offers different combinations and I have no worries about it.
