Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaWhile the foyer looks 5 star, the rooms certainly aren’t up to 5 star standard. location a bit far from everything.
Helpful staff. They arranged my iPad that I left on the train to be delivered to the hotel. Free shuttle from train station.

SwitzerlandEnglish is still mostly unavailable which I would expect to at least for the concierge to be fluent in. The room had an odd smell. Shover curtain needs replacing. It smelled. The restaurants are amazing although also very pricey. No lounge where you can sit it without having to pay for. The check-in waiting area is on some odd chairs.
Big and clean rooms. Overall very friendly employees. Shuttlebus that drives very often. A direct connection to a metro line. However the metro line is not very well connected to other lines. Hence the easiest to get around was take the shuttle to the main station and go from there.

CanadaThe facilities are a bit dated, the hotel floor is pretty much all carpeted, which I personally don't like
Location was great Lots of shops and restaurants inside the hotel. The bakery shop in the lobby was really good. Staff was very friendly

JapanThe alight disrepair of the shower due to mold and the resulting “stuffy” atmosphere in the bathroom after someone takes a shower. i recommend renovating the bathrooms and installing an appropriately sized ventilation system in them so the steam and moisture produced during s shower are transferred outside.
We liked the overall atmosphere of the property and especially loved beautiful main lounge with the amazing view; WOW!

United KingdomThis hotel is complicated it is good, it is a little old, it does have everything you could want but for some reason it was just good. The staff are not amazing I am not normally someone who would complain about the staff as understand that working in hotels is a hard job but If it was not just 1 or 2 members of staff who were uninterested and ambivalent to the guests it was everyone we came into contact with. Except Housekeeping who were amazing and lovely. The shuttle bus is a godsend otherwise the hotel is to far from any transport link and just a little to far from any tourist destination.
The shuttle bus.

The hotel staff were very friendly, special shout for the attendant who took us to our room, she was extremely kind and helpful. The hotel had great amenities and was situated above a train station that took us direct to Osaka Castle.

BelgiumThe hotel is getting old, especially some rooms. Therefore, amenities are not as good as they could be. Also, restaurants are very expensive for Japan. Finally, it should be announced clearly that you have to pay extra to access the swimming pool: 3300 yens for a full day.
The location is quite good, close to the Fukushima area, which makes it easy to reach Universal Studios and the loop line. The free shuttle to Osaka Station was very useful. Standard rooms are large enough, and the beds are comfortable.

United KingdomThe location is not ideal. You rely heavily on the shuttle bus which does not run early enough in the morning and is limited after 9pm and then stops at 10.15pm. The sound proofing is not great. I learned after my first visit to bring ear plugs. You can hear everything in the next room and even people half way up the corridor. The staff were kind enough to allocate me a room right at the end of the corridor which does help to eliminate some of the noise for an early morning. Plumbing is very noisy in this part of the hotel. It was not an issue for me staying in the other section on a previous visit.
The comfort of the beds and the helpfulness of the staff. This was a second stay for me and they kept some of my luggage for me whilst I traveled to another location. Although it was a single room the bed was actually a small double size although pushed up against the wall to make space in a smaller room. Would not suit 2 people but for 1 it was great size. Staff were happy to provide information for the airport limousine bus for KIX and helped me with a luggage and taxi as I had to leave before the shuttle bus started in the morning.

United KingdomThe walls are thin and you can hear everything from the next room. Location is not ideal. Although there is a shuttle bus the hours are restricted and the bus is jam packed. It's not very easy to find the stop at the train station in Osaka the first time around. I tried the relaxation salon on my visit. The lady doing the treatment was lovely and friendly but the overall surroundings are not very relaxing and the process to reserve a treatment was not easy. It also seemed very expensive for what it was - a dry massage for feet and legs. Shuttle bus for Universal drops you quite far from the exit and got me to the park over 1 hour after it opened.
The bed was so big & comfortable and the room is large for Japan. The staff are really helpful and if they do not understand your request in English with get somebody else who can. Lots of different eatery options and it is possible to pay for breakfast in the morning directly at the restaurant. The breakfast is a full buffet and has something for everyone. My room on the Natural Comfort Floor has an additional lounge area where you can enjoy great views along with free soft drinks and hot drink refreshments from the machines. The cafe in the main lobby with the outlook onto the luscious fountain area is a great spot to relax whilst waiting to check in.

AustraliaThere was no coffee or milk in the room. I asked if I could have some and then someone came up to room and said they refuse because of room type?. I didn’t like that not only was the pool at least 3ooo yen a day( which I wasn’t aware), we also were not allowed to look at it. Lastly when we arrived at the counter I was told we were on smoking floor. The staff said we had no choice in this because of the booking. They ended up moving us eventually because of d FA amity members asthma.
The Hotel is very glamorous. I loved the free coach service to and from Osaka station. Loved the flower displays and the hygiene products in the room.

United KingdomSome reception staff were slightly abrupt when approached, I have worked throughout the world and this approach would have be challenged by most ,as we had been travelling for some time I allowed this to pass however the management should review staffing techniques to ensure customers are made to feel welcome.
Although slightly dated, the hotel was comfortable, and the location was conveniently served with a courtesy bus ,the property is primarily used as a conference facility and is generally busy, several good restaurants within a 1 mile walk.
