Food provided for both dinner and breakfast was simply fantastic. A full course Kaiseki meal that you can't forget and a relaxing onsen for the night. The hotel is located along Lake Chuzenji giving you a great view of the lake and nature. It is also next to the bus stop and ferry terminal, making it easy to get around and come back. The hospitality shown by the staff was simply amazing and gracious. Looking forward to coming back to this hotel if I ever return to Nikko. Simply fantastic!

United StatesNothing as beds were comfortable, in room amenities were great. It was the perfect little get away. Massage chair in room was a bonus and a nice way to end the day of travel.
This place has a lot of charm. Staff were all warm and welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. They stagger meals so you never feel cramped. The food was amazing and it's all a taste of local area foods with local ingredients. The onsen is small, but natural hot spring water. There aren't a lot of rooms in the hotel and it was fully booked, but I went on off times to the onsen and had the whole place to myself.

Room was phenomenal - so spacious, comfortable and clean. Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. And the dinner courses were much better than expected, 10/10 personalized meal!

United StatesOur only complaint, and a small usual one, was the very bright overhead lights on one switch. Here they had lights at the bed, so that helped.
Our room had a lake view! The staff was wonderful! The meals (breakfast and dinner) were very good and different both nights. The bed was very comfortable, with 2 pillows! We would stay there again!

United KingdomWe had Breakfast and Dinner included in our package, but unfortunately this was not suitable for us. It’s absolutely Japanese style but having a teenager we would have appreciated a little bit of western feel too as an option. There was nothing. So if you enjoy Japanese cuisine a lot then you will love it! Unfortunately the couple dinners we had we didn’t personally enjoy and even skipped second breakfast. I felt that western customers are not welcome in that sense. But maybe it was just us. People are really lovely and welcoming though!
I really loved the view from our room! You are looking into this beautiful lake! Bus stop is just a minute away and a little town is charming. Close by you have Kegon falls too! To reach all most visited shrines is about 30min by bus. Please note bus goes through extremely mountainous road so be prepared! The property itself is clean etc, however I do agree with some comments that is missing it’s identity. It have potential to be really amazing boutique hotel but at the moment is just plain and a bit basic.
