The stairs are very very narrow and there's only one shower and no sink other than the one in the kitchen.

We had a spacious room with a view. There's a washing machine and a dryer, which is convenient! There's also a kitchen and a shared chill room.

Floors and doors are a bit noisy, only one shower and bathroom. I had to brush my teeth and do my skincare routine in the kitchen but like, there’s worst than that. haha

Really good location, close to the train station and in a commercial arcade. Comfy bed, laundry machine onsite, handy kitchen and nice common room. Really nice owner and good restaurant recommendations.

I generally avoid mixed dorms but personally found this one especially uncomfortable because there was only 1 toilet and 1 shower in the whole place, and nowhere else to get changed in private. There are curtains around beds but gaps are hard to close fully.

The gentleman owner was friendly and provided a tour of the facilities. Stairs are narrow, but it is Japan, so it is expected. Good cultural experience. Information sheet to how to sleep on a futon was useful. Eventually realise the best place to brush your teeth was at the kitchen sink. It was only a one night stay.

Very steep stairs up to the rooms, they weren’t a problem for us at all but just thought it’d be worth mentioning in case that’s a problem for anyone.

This hostel was unique and cosy, the beds were comfy and warm, the room was spacious, the host was a really nice guy and recommended an amazing tiny ramen restaurant for dinner and the washing machine and dryer worked well and were cheap (something that has been a problem at lots of other hostels in Japan). Great value for money as well!

There was only one shower that was shared between everyone, so it seemed to always be in use. There also wasn't a dedicated place to park a bike, especially not undercover.

It is not for aged guests. The stairs were so steep and narrow. There is only one toilet on the ground floor.

The location is perfect. The staff was so kind and let us know where to visit and eat. The pizza restaurant he recommended, Tranquillo, was the best pizza place I have ever been. The building is so cool and unique.

We had a very nice stay at the Guest House, the host was friendly and gave us some recommendations for restaurants and activities. Our room was cosy with a beautiful harbour view, the futons beds comfortable and the facilities clean. The house is very central to shops, activities and the sea (there are ferries to go to the islands where you can bike the Shimanami Kaido), and it is situated at less than 5min walk from the Onomichi station. What else to ask !

Very steep/narrow staircases to get to the room (we were on the top floor, but the first staircase is very tight - larger luggage might present issues.

Friendly host with respectable English, great location just a few minutes walk from Onomichi station. The room was spacious & the traditional beds were comfier than expected. Facilities are pretty basic, but that's what we were expecting, so no issues there.

Very comfortable beds and nice common area. Perfect location and very friendly host! We cycled the Shimanami Kaido and had a day exploring Onomichi, and the hostel was great for both. It's an interesting building, with narrow and steep stairs. Kitchen facilities, shared shower and bathroom all fine. A good hostel!
