Friendly staff, she even took time to show me around, they speak English. Overall the room was tidy, staff friendly, spacious kitchen. I had a great time. Konbini next door !

nothing! had the most wonderful time in Takayama :)

i booked a family room that can host up to 6 people so imagine the amount of space we have to ourselves! (couple) the property is a shared house but i am very happy to have our own bathroom and toilet... something i REALLY prefer above everything when considering an accommodation... the staff left a welcome note in our room which i find very nice and sincere... slept really well because of the generous room space, nice room temp, and cleanliness of the place... super bonus to have an elevator which is NOT common in shared houses... :) beside the property is a 7-11 konbini so it is perfect for a last minute snack or coffee run :) the location is also great coz it is just a 5-7min walk to the JR Station and if you are bound to visit the UNESCO site, Shirakawa-go, the bus station is super near the place as well... try to visit also the local market and old town area for some authentic Hida beef!!! SUPER yummy! score vintage items in small, local shops that are not tourist priced... we have thoroughly enjoyed the local, old town spirit and even the waterfront side... to me this is waaaaay better than the old town in Kyoto; Higashiyama district that has been super commercialized already... lastly, go to the riverside in the morning to see the beautiful koi and ducks swimming together in the river... it is just breathtaking... oh and dont miss the croissant at Andersen---- DO NOT MISS it... SUPER life changing hahaha!

The mattress is rather thin.

Good atmosphere, plenty of opportunities to meet people but you also have your own space. The dorm was very quiet and nice.

I understand they want to keep food and drink out of the rooms but not even providing each guest with a glass /cup in the room for a drink of water in night is unacceptable.

Clean, neat, orderly guest house with good laundry and kitchen facilities, including complimentary tea, coffee etc. Booked a private room. Reasonable en suite. Bed was a thin mattress on tatami floor, but perfectly comfortable. Long balcony with a view of streets and distant mountains. Courteous reception. Located ten mins walk from station on the same street.

hate having someone telling me what time should i leave the common space. 11pm they tell you to go to your room. c'mon, i'm working in a laptop, not disturbing anyone..it's a bit ridiculous. parking is payed. sorry, it should be free for guests.

nice hostel, cozy place, nice staff. kitchen is amazing. love some details as the old games we can play like mario bros, etc.

The rooms were a little noisy but it is normal in hostel-type rooms.

Staff of the guest house was really nice! They let me drop my luggage off before Check-In time so I could go out and walk around the city. Additionally, the guest house has really useful information for tourists in the lounge.

Maybe for elderly people it's a little bit far to walk to the old town.

Cosy hotel with very nice and welcoming hostess. Her English is great. In the lobby they provide a lot of information about things to see, do and eat/drink in Takayama. Fully equipped kitchen with microwave, oven, dining area.. Etc. The Japanese style room we stayed at was very well maintained, clean and had a small balcony. AC works great both to heat the room and cool it down. Close to both Family Mart and 7/11.

This place is quite well presented. The price is affordable, and it's within walking distance of the train station. The kitchen area is nice, and the showers on the ground floor are large and good quality.

Bed mattress quite thin.the location a bit to.walk from station and town but not to bad.

The place so nice and super clean.lots of space to hang out.nice area for eating. They provide coffee and green tea which is so lovely. Have a bath towels too thumb up.the staff extremely helpful and lots of information on the wall.shower extremely good and shower oil and shampoo provide.I am in the mix dorm pretty quiet everyone really try to respect other.big room.many hanging to dry towel .toilet just at the same floor.i love this place I definitely come back

Very nice and well managed guesthouse, everything is clean and equipment in perfect condition. The shared space is very cosy with a lot of books, games, etc. All very cute! Our host was very nice and welcoming too. And they have very good coffee ! :)

Wasn't too much of a problem for me, but it's a 10-20 min walk to the main street. I figure this can be troublesome for some people.

Perturbing snoring of others. Even with ear plug, I could still hear clearly throughout the night. But this cannot be blamed on the hostel. It was an experience to be expected and unavoidable.

Superb hostel with adequate space. I will not have claustrophia though taking a bunk bed along with 10-12 others. Sturdy locker, sufficient shared shower rooms that I simply could use straightaway whenever I needed to. More to mention, the hostel is well located to just 1 min walk to Family mart, 5 min walk to main bus and train terminals. Well equipped kitchen. One can cook and make coffee here. Fridge is ready for guests too. The prominent feature is the clealiness of common facilities. I was pretty fond of the ottoro displays, guitar, comics in the lobby area. Quite fascinating.

Good location, walking distance from de historic city centre and the train station. 7-eleven next door. Very friendly owner, who speaks very well english: he gave us some tips on what to do in the neighbourhood. Would stay here again, recommend 10/10!
