It is clean and has an elevator. The receptionist is amiable and would provide you suggestions around the area, or answer various questions.

The guest house is located halfway between the train station and Matsumoto Castle, close to the shopping area and many restaurants. Rooms are wide and clean even if basic and a bit neglected. The common area offers kitchen facilities and free coffe for guests.

The mattress is quite thin so it was quite uncomfortable to sleep. When i key in the name in google map, it took me to the other end of the street. Be sure to follow the direction from booking.com app. The hostel is located above a restaurant. You will need to go into the restaurant and take the lift on the right hand side, immediate after the entrance, in order to get to reception.

It is close to Matsumoto station. The room looks like a storage space converted to hostel dorms. The female dorms only has 4 beds and they are split by partition. Clean bathroom and toilet. There is a lounge area with kitchen.

Photos show exactly what you get. It's nothing fancy. Walls are cracked and plaster is broken. But, it doesn't really matter. The beds were very comfortable and the room really only operated as a cozy nook in between bouts of exploration and food runs.

Staff was really nice. We told the resturant staff on the first floor we wanted to check in (Check in office was on the second floor and no one was waiting there for us). One staff member rushed upstairs, apologised profusely and we checked in without a hiccup. He walked us all the way to the room, showed us where everything was and how to use the utilities. Very wonderful guy. 10 minute walk from matsumoto castle and 5 minutes from frog street. 5 minutes from Matsumoto train station and bus terminal. Close to lots of resturants too

Probably the sharing gender toilet ..but u only work ur time in using it so tht u wont stumbled wth the opposite gender. 😆

The room is very basic, some updating will definitely raise the standard , but of course may raise the price as well!!

It is a small hotel with just a few rooms. Excellent location between the train station and the castle. The room is big, and we enjoyed the common room where you can get coffee, hot water and meet other travelers if you wish.

Just around 10 minutes walking from Matsumoto st. Freindly owner, free tea and coffee at big sharing living room. From hostel just another 10 minute walking to Matsumoto castle. Oppsite to hostel is Parco mall.

It would of have been nice to see cleaner carpets in the facility. During my period of stay, it was noticeably dirty. Other than that, I had a good experience staying here.

Stayed at Guest House Ichiyama Shukuba for 3 nights. The facility is close to the Matsumoto train station - 500Meter, 7min walk and it right next to the Parco shopping mall. There is an izakaya restaurant (Ichiyama Bar/壱山酒場 on the main floor. I did not have the chance to try out the food in the restaurant but it looks pretty good. The room that I stayed is on the 2nd floor. The is a big communal kitchen space on the 2nd floor and guests have free access to snacks, tea, and coffee. The toilets, showers, laundry, and locker facilities are located on the 3rd floor. Laundry costs ¥100. The buttons and menu of the washing machine are in Japanese but it was really easy to operate. There is no dryer available so I just have to hang my laundry on the balcony. There are 4 beds in the dorm room on the 2nd floor. The bed in the dorm was comfy. The two beds on each opposite end of the room have a bit more space that allows one to unpack one’s luggage. The two other beds in the middle of the room have a very narrow walk path thus one would have to unpack their luggage outside the bed space.

Wifi was fine in the lounge but the signal was weak and slow in our room (4th floor).

Large room, fairly simple but had everything we needed for a short stay. Common area was excellent and staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is good, close to train station and the castle.
