Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I stay at the Daichii Inn Park whenever I travel to Sendai and it is like a second home. It is quiet, peaceful and in a fantastic location and the staff are so helpful and polite. I will always stay here when I am in beautiful Sendai.

SingaporeThe wifi in the first room given to me was useless. The signal strength was so low, the connection dropped repeatedly. They changed my room the next day and the signal strength was better, mostly 3 bars out of five. The room didn't come with a kettle in the normal sense, but a small water boiler (no more then two teacups of water) on some kind of mini induction stove top. The bedside lamp didn't work.
On the one hand, this hotel was about 700 -800m from the railway station, so it was a bit of a walk from the station to reach it. It was all on the flat though, not uphill or downhill. On the other hand, the area around the station had lots of traffic and noise, so being a bit further away also meant a quieter area. There were elevators to rooms. Check-in was smooth. The hotel looks on the older side. However, this also meant that that the room was not as tight as some of the newer hotels. The room came with a fridge, but no safe. Temperature was fine, but I couldn't see any thermostat controls. There was a desk, but overall, the room's lighting was less than sufficient. There was really only one useful electrical charging point for equipment. The bathroom was OK and typical for Japanese hotels in this class. Water pressure was good, hot water came through quickly. Drainage from the sink however needed a bit of attention. I did not sign up for breakfast in this hotel. There are plenty of restaurants midway between the hotel and the railway station, with most of them along the covered street. There are also many restaurants in the station itself, but these seemed always crowded. In the vicinty of the hotel, there were plenty of convenience stores around.

GermanyThere was a problem with the wifi upon arrival, however it was fixed within 20mins.
Located a short ten minute walk from Sendai station, the hotel was very easy to find. The reception is open 24hrs and the staff were absolutely wonderful no matter the time I came in or went out. The hotel room was bigger than your standard room and comfortably furnished with an additional table and armchair to rest in. The bathroom was a common unit bath which does not look flattering on the photos of the property but was actually very spacious and clean. Cleanliness in general was great, they left new towels outside your door if you did not wish for cleaning on the day. The best part was the silence; the walls are not thin like normal hotel rooms but seemed to be thicker so one couldn't hear the rooms next door. It was the best sleep I ever had at a hotel due to that!

United StatesThe room was meant for two people but there were three of us. They fit another bed into our small double room which meant that we had very little space to sit (only two chairs)or move. They had advertised that the room was up to three adults so the lack of space was a surprise.
Breakfast provided was good and the service by the staff was pleasant. The hotel met our needs.

United StatesThe number one problem with this hotel was that there was no real air conditioning. There was a weird setup where the A/C (エアコン) was supposed to be controlled through what was essentially a multi-function stereo but apparently the entire hotel had been set to 暖房 (heat) according to a staff member so it didn't work. When I tried turning it on it appeared to work at first then stopped after about 30 minutes. Also although the hotel was non-smoking except for the top floor I certainly smelled the odor of stale cigarettes after attempting to cool the room down so it must have come from the air conditioning vent. The room had a window which could be opened but street noise, the threat of insects and rain did not make it a viable option. A staff member provided an oscillating fan but the problem was that it had a timer and would only run for 120 minutes which was very annoying as it would not run overnight. The toilet had an unpleasant smell which is unfortunately quite common and there was hair around the bathtub and even on the low ceiling of the bathroom. I left a note in Japanese regarding the hair but it was not cleaned up by housekeeping.
The hotel was not too far from the station, had a convenience store right across the street and was priced decently. The staff members were also very patient and polite. The room key was unlike anything I had ever used before as the key "holder" acted as a key card for the room but it was fine after I understood how it worked. Although the hotel had wi-fi, it was not encrypted but thank god they had an Ethernet port than worked. No hotels should have unencrypted wi-fi especially one that appears to target businessmen. You could apparently borrow an Ethernet cable from the front desk but I brought my own. The mini-fridge did not work but the woman at the front desk whom I informed about it on my first night replaced it the next day after I explained to her that I had already performed extensive troubleshooting. She thought that simply turning the cooling level to max might get it to work but it was completely broken.
