“Very cool looking hostel with relaxing vibe and great shared areas and facilities. Loved the beer flights from the bar and staff were friendly. A great location too being close to the beach. Bus stop is on the road outside.”

“It’s beautiful place , the only thing is that there is very few public transportation that it need to rental a car , there is no shops around there”

  • “Large villa with well thought out decor and modern amenities. Great for a large group or family looking for a self catering option (which is rare in Japan).”

  • iro Review Score: 9

“I don’t often stay in guesthouses, but after spending two nights at Iro, I can say that it is probably best suited for backpackers with low expectations. It is close to the ferry port, basic and affordable. And the owner speaks English. But there is no Wi-Fi, nor towels, nor microwave. The walls are thin, the floors squeaky, and the old clock downstairs strikes loudly every 30 minutes. So, depending on your sleeping habits and other guests, you may not be able to get a good rest. Also, it is a notably old house, and cleanliness in some areas leaves a lot to be desired.”

    “Friendly staff, everything provided!”

“I like everything in this hotel. The owner of the house is very kind. I love Sado the most. I will go back again when I have the opportunity.”

  • “It's too expensive for what it is. It's just a metal box on the side of a road. The pictures makes you believe it's luxury but it's not. At all. There is no toilet or water sink in the bungalow. You have to walk for 3 minutes along the road to have a sink, toilet or a shower. It could be cool if it was not so expensive. It's basically camping but expensive. The view is nice but you can hear the cars passing.”

  • “The room was very spacious and comfortable. The common space areas were very nice. It's walkable to the beach and to one convenience store. The staff were very kind and gave us some excellent recommendations.”

  • “Very modern and updated property in a good location and walking distance to the beach. Room was Japanese style which was a good size and the futons very comfortable. Had shared bathroom facilities that not everyone would like but these were very clean and not too far from the rooms. Had large communal area which was very clean and plenty of space as well as a good size kitchen if you wanted to cook. Staff were great and both friendly and helpful. Meals at the adjoining cafe were great and very good value for money.”
