The hotel is simply beautiful and the food in the restaurant is exquisite. The proprietors are welcoming and helpful and make you feel very much at home. The garden is quiet with seats and tables and has a spectacular backdrop of rock and mountains. Would strongly recommend staying at this very special establishment.

It would have been better if one didn't have to leave at the end of the stay. Such is life. Comfortable accommodation and an excellent cooked breakfast to start the day

Alongside the town's lovely Gardens of Paradise the entire facility seemed to be a part of it with a glorious garden of its own with hedge lined paths, palm trees and a pagoda. In the summertime eating al fresco would be just perfect there with the spacious covered terrace for any inclement weather.

Warm and welcoming family-owned boutique hotel. Breakfast was pure and simple yet super fresh and tasty. Dinner in the hotel was exceptionally good. Chiavenna is a lovely town with loads of outdoor exploration possibilities in the area.

Free parking is within a short walk BUT finding an open spot can be challenging. Be aware of those little ol’ Italian ladies as they won’t have a second thought about cutting in front of you!

Irina and Angelo are the consummate hosts and you can tell that they tastefully designed their villa for comfort and convenience. Villa Giade has been open for only a couple of years and the care that was taken in designing it shows in every detail! Adding to the convenience of their location is the restaurant (with a beautiful patio) located within the same building. Sit back and enjoy a fantastic meal prepared by Chef Angelo and son, Luca. Our first nights dinner was so good that we opted to do the “Blind Dinner” the second night. Angelo did not disappoint! Irina’s eye for design carries over from the villa to the restaurant where it can be appreciated right down to the dishes and flatware! Our visit was in the off season but it was easy to see why this would be the perfect place to come back to after a day in St. Moritz!

Before arriving we were given the room number and a code for the doors. When we arrived there was absolutely nobody there. We got through the main entrance but simply could not find our way to our room. Somewhat peculiar. We called the telephone number on the door and Gianluca was there in 3 minutes and he was very helpful so we have nothing to compllain about

A little better amenities, like some more soap, a bottle of water and some paper tissues, would make the room more complete. Also the open toillete area is something you have to get used to. Shattering one glas door may a be solution for more privacy

Service is just perfect. Irina, husband and son, do everything at their reach to make your stay perfect. Food was amazing and the dedication for my wife, providing vegan options at breakfast and dinner was extremely kind. Certainly a place we recommend.

The bathrooms are very "modern" and do not have a proper door - only a glass one at least in the junior suite. So with us being 3 people in the room, while one was taking a shower, the other ones had to look away.

The staff is very kind and understanding. Will help you with anything and make you feel like home.

Location is very good, in the heart of the historic Chiavenna. The staff is the best you can dream about. Irina, the owner, is very friendly, helpful and always at assistance. Breakfast is vey nice and we had a delicious tasting dinner! An absolutely "come again"!
