Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWould have given them a 10, but settled on 9 because the shower had very little pressure. Also, when you sit on the toilet, your legs go under the sink. The bathroom needs some remodeling to make it more ergonomic and functional.
Amazing and courteous staff. The AC wasn't working in the San Anselmo hotel, so they promptly moved us over to another hotel within walking distance. It turned out to be an upgrade because the rooms were substantially larger with balcony views of Aventino. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The wine, snacks, dinner, and desert we ordered were all very good. The Tiramisu at the end was superb. Now I know what a real Tiramasu tastes like. Delightful. The Aventine area of Rome is beautiful and has this old-world elegance. I wish we could have stayed longer than the one night as we had to depart early for the airport. I would definitely return and my humble thanks to the staff that made our stay comfortable, especially when it was 100 degrees F in Rome.

United KingdomThe hotel is in a beautiful location. Quiet - and the neighbourhood is very pretty and near some lovely restaurants. The area is quite hilly, so not so good if you have mobility issues? We were upgraded to a room with our own private balcony/terrace overlooking the garden. Breakfast was also good, with nice choices from the buffet. The staff were very helpful and spoke very good English. Just right for a 4 day stay in Rome.

CanadaLuciano was exceptionally helpful. There was a problem with the airport pick-up, but San Anselmo did not apply the penalty to us. For this we are grateful. Only place we would stay in Rome. Birdsong at breakfast in the heart of the city- what more can you ask for?

United States of AmericaIt was a quiet location about a 10 minute walk to the metro station Piramide. The room was lovely, a nice buffet breakfast was included and the staff was very helpful. As we were trudging up the hill with our luggage a gentleman from the hotel came down to meet us to carry our bags and then when we arrived at reception he came out and offered us two cold drinks on a tray. That made it extra special. There were also outdoor areas to sit.

United States of AmericaIt’s on a hill so climbing every time you walk back to the hotel may not be pleasant for some people, especially on a hot day. The shower door on top of the tub only covered half of the tub and was not perfectly aligned with the tub. It would be super easy to get water onto the floor if not careful.
It’s located in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood. Our room was tucked behind an orange tree facing the lovely garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

CanadaWeird bathroom - 14 steps down to the floor below our bedroom. Not for everyone. Gorgeous tile work and deep soaker walk in tub/shower.
Lovely setting, great garden and comfortable room. Be prepared to walk a lot (up and down the big hill) as it’s 3500 steps to the nearest Metro station or restaurant. Quite peaceful and away from the bustle of Rome.

CanadaReally there was nothing that we did not like about this hotel.
My husband and I loved this hotel! We stayed 3 nights and then returned for another 4 nights after traveling to the Cinque Terre region of Italy. The hotel was in a perfect location - the Aventino area is quiet, green, and about a 15 minute walk from the busy sights of Rome. (It is up a hill so be aware of that.) Our room (#830) was beautiful with a huge patio. Breakfast in the courtyard surrounded by orange trees was divine. We will always return to this hotel.
