Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe property is away from the Sorrento train station. So, if you don’t have a car and need to rely on public transportation, be aware that the buses are not reliable and they might not stop for you if the bus is already full. There is no handicap access to the place.
The view is astounding! From the terrace, you can see the bay, the sunset, the Vulcan and Pompeii. The room is spacious and the nuns are very accommodating. We had a tour booked and they anticipated the breakfast time for an earlier hour, so that we could eat.

United StatesThe location was remote, but once we got used to the bus, it wasn’t a problem.
The sisters were friendly and extremely helpful. When the taxi the ordered for us didn’t show up, one of the sisters drove us to the port. Breakfast pastries were a treat. The views were stunning.

United KingdomVery steep hill to the property if you don't have drive or have a disability. Quite far from sorrento centre as you need to get a bus or taxi there and back.
The sister's were very helpful with explaining about the bus times and how to get to sorrento and back . The rooms were clean and had fresh towels everyday. The views from the terrace were fantastic. The gardens are lovely to walk around, have a few animals there such as a goat, chickens and peacocks. The breakfast was very good value , €5 per person

Very comfortable beds in a big room with modern spacious bathroom. The sisters of this monastery are extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast was basic but good. We got fresh eggs every morning. Amazing garden area and rooftop with spectacular view on Vesuv, the sea and Sorrento. Highly recommended

United KingdomThe property is rather far from the town centre and you need a car or some other form of transport to get to it. It's not a negative point but needs to be considered, especially if you prefer to be in the centre in the evening.
The views were amazing, and the rooms were very clean. The property is on a hill at the top of the town. The sisters were very helpful. The breakfast was good.

New ZealandIt's located a long way from the centre of Sorrento and a big inconvenient if you don't have a car. Once we got the buses sorted it was OK but we did spend quite a lot of time waiting, especially for the return from Sorrento
Really nice clean room with good facilities. Nice breakfast. The nuns that run it are extremely friendly and very helpful.

GermanyIt is a bit removed from the Sorrento center, so if you have a car, it is no issue. But, as we traveled by bus, which by the way is not always punctual, it could be an irritant. But, on the positive side, you have the opportunity to hike up and down while absorbing the beautiful views of the bay and Vesuvius from the serpentine mountain side roads passing by beautifully decorated local gardens with orange orchards.
It was an amazing place, with the view of Vesuvius over the bay of Naples in the background. And the staff? This place is run by a few catholic nuns. What do you expect? My daughter already wants to visit again next year :)

MalaysiaIt’s about 2km from the town so a car is essential to get there if you need access to food etc. Also need to be a good driver as the road leading to the house is steep & narrow.
It’s a spacious house with a lovely big garden filled with lemon, orange & olive trees. Very cosy place hosted by warm & friendly nuns who gave us good breakfast every morning. Felt very welcomed - like a family.

United KingdomThe light in the bathroom, it was on a sensor. During showering it kept going off, we had to keep opening the shower door to turn the light on. There are no windows in the bathroom so it was very very dark.
The view from the balcony was amazing. Sisters were very very friendly, accommodating and attentive. No trouble to ask for extra pillows, I sent a message via the booking.com app to ask for more pillows, when we got back to the room they were there. Three of us stayed in a triple room, there was plenty of space. Lots of car parking. We were sorry we couldn't say goodbye, we couldn't see anyone around when we left - thank you for having us!

LatviaArriving by car may be a bit challenging for less skilled drivers due to very steep and narrow road that leads to the monastery. Once you are through, you are in a very safe area though.
Very quiet, peaceful and safe place, amazing view from the terrace. Could spend all day watching the Sorrento bay from the terrace. Beautiful and well maintained garden and spacious private parking. Guests are greeted by a very welcoming nun, explaining how everything works. Room as expected, tidy and clean. Breakfast simple yet satisfactory, complemented by local mandarins from the garden and selection home made jam.

CanadaDriving and parking is scary as it's on a steep embankment but totally worth it.
A surprisingly modern stay. One of the sisters greeted us at the gate and gave us a tour of the property and a bit of history which I thought was very nice. The terrace opens up to a view of the sea which offers a great place to start the day. The room was clean and orderly and opened to the terrace.

AustraliaVery strange that the pillows were too high and hard. You really need to have the correct bus timetable for trips to and from Sorrento. I think you can pay cash on them but the sisters sold us bus cards. Sita bus leaves from Sorrento station (and other stops). The timetables I googled were not accurate. Go to Santa Agata via Nastro Verde. Or Priora. Could have happily just stayed at the guesthouse rather than go down to busy Sorrento. Note: great good-value restaurant nearby, Il Borgo, but closed on Monday!
We came for the views and the Franciscan(?) sisters. They were deeply kind and warm. One spoke excellent English. They were spiritually inspiring for me, as were the little quotes about the place. The view of the water and volcano from the shared terrace was spectacular with many tables and chairs. We usually had it to ourselves actually. Breakfast was great in a room downstairs. The property was very lovely to walk around outside. Even had a stream. And a beautiful chapel. Don’t panic! It is an open guesthouse, there are ashtrays on the deck and I am sure you could have a glass of wine.
