Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Arab EmiratesInitially we were placed in a tiny stuffed room that we couldn't move in. You could hear everything that goes in the hotel and outside the hotel. We were not able to sleep all night. The breakfast was very limited and so crowded.
Good location, nice staff, great lobby. The reception staff were very understanding and took immediate action when we complained about the room.

United States of AmericaThere was nothing to complain about
The property is in a great location next to the Rialto Market. You can take the public water taxi to the market walk 600 feet and you will be there. There are many nice restaurants around and away from all the other hustle and bustle touristy spots. It’s very quiet there at night and safe. We stayed in the annex in a two bedroom apartment for a family of four. It was very comfortable that had a view overlooking the Grand Canal. Everything you could need is within a 15 minute walk. The location is perfect. Our breakfast was included that included meats, cheeses, fresh fruits, breads, salads, cereal, and coffees. Everything was nice fresh and clean and the hotel staff was very nice.

United KingdomNot a negative - There is a Great breakfast buffet, not much for those with allergens but kitchen staff were very helpful when we needed help with this and offered alternatives.
This is a beautiful hotel, stylish, extremely comfortable, superb staff and the location is amazing - on the grand canal but really quiet, a few mins walk to Rialto and the bustle.

AustraliaWe had to pass the market at night which wasn't a problem but it can feel a bit deserted.
We were given a room with a canal view which was fantastic. Room was clean, comfortable, good bathroom, best breakfasts of all the hotels we stayed in in Italy, friendly staff, good location close to Rialto Bridge.

United States of AmericaReally? Excellent all around!
The location of Hotel L'Orologio was excellent in a Deluxe Double Room with Canal View. Lovely! A 1 minute walk through Rialto Market and the water taxi. Also, so easy to catch water taxi at Rialto Mercato stop, get off in 2 stops going towards airport, and then hopping on the Alilaguna to the Airport. Fast and inexpensive. The room was clean and the bed comfortable with fresh, crisp linens. The view of the canal was an extra bonus! Breakfast which was included was one of the best with a large selection and the best service ever! I contacted the hotel because I left an item in my room and they were so fast to get back to me with instructions. The best staff ever!

FranceReally nothing. Its a great place.
The hotel is ideally located, 5 minutes' walk from the Rialto Bridge and 7 minutes' walk from the airport boat stop. It is also 50m away from the psychological limit of the mass tourists (who come to take a last photo in the street and go back towards the Rialto!), which means the hotel is in a very calm environment. The hotel offers to help you get to and from the hotel. It's convenient. But remember, the Alilagune boat stop to and from the airport is around 7-minute walk away. The breakfast is excellent. If you like half a glass of prosecco in the morning "because we're on holiday in Venice so we can", you'll get your glass of prosecco in the morning! In the evening, you should definitely try their cocktails (FYI, if you don't drink alcohol, their non-alcoholic cocktail menu is one of the biggest I have ever seen). You can either have them inside or outside on small tables small tables on the Grand canal quay. I've been a guest in this hotel five times, and I'm not planning to change my habits in Venezia.

The breakfast was fantastic. All the staff was attentive and friendly. Everything is within 15 min walk. We took the water taxi #1 from train station and to Rialto Mercado stop. It was a short walk to hotel. We loved the maid service. The best was the shower!! Just loved it. We recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel in excellent location right on the canal. All of the staff were extremely helpful, gracious and polite. A particular thank you to the lovely lady who served breakfast and seemed to be able to remember every guest's beverage preference! Breakfast was good - lots of choices and very fresh. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet and the bathroom surprisingly large for a city hotel. The hotel organised our airport transfer via private car and boat which was a smooth and fun way to arrive in Venice.

United States of AmericaThere is nothing to improve on here.
This hotel is near the Rialto area and next to the Rialto Market. It is on the canal and easily accessible by vaparretto at the Rialto Mercato stop. We were impressed by the luxurious finishes of this hotel. The dining area and breakfast were perfect. I will stay here again when we come back to Venice.
