Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South KoreaHad a special room that did not have any amenities, ie kettle, fridge... did not know did not care but I did ask for a kettle to make tea and the lady at the front said it could not be done. A kettle!. The manager was within earshot she immediately said to have a kettle delivered. The gentleman who came with the kettle was extremely nice. The front desk staff overall seemed VERY snooty and little eye contact.
Location very convenient for Cinque Terre as it's right in front of the station. Lobby and bar are nice and clean. Room was quite small as was the washroom.

BahrainStaff could have been better at solving issues - asked to iron, was told no as the room had cases in it. There was no thinking how to make the customer happy. Rooms are a little dated and need renovating.
Room was a good size and in a great location for train station and access to Cinque Terre. Breakfast was good.

Great location, opposite to the train station - perfect for visiting Cinque Terre. The staff is amazing, very helpful and friendly, nothing was too hard for them (special thanks to Marco).

CanadaIncluded breakfast was disappointing. Went down at 7am for opening as we had a train to catch. Things were not all ready, and some of the food in the warming trays was cold, like they were leftovers that had just come from the fridge.
Room was excellent and staff at reception very helpful. Dinner in restaurant was very good, too.

Excellent location for the train station. Didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the restuarant. Well located for restaurants and cafe's. Staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a great base to visit the Cinque Terre from.

United KingdomThere was nothing at this hotel to dislike.
The location very near to the Central Station was excellent for our requirements. The breakfast was superb with a great variety of dishes to suit all tastes. We do use the Terminus Cafe for dinner one evening. The service was excellent with very friendly and helpful staff and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We booked 2 rooms, each had a different layout and the standard was as we expected.

United KingdomNothing really. Would have been good to have a mosquito plug in bedroom like we had in Florence hotel as my husband and I got quite badly bitten during the night. We did ask if they had one but unfortunately not. Will remember to carry one ourselves in future !!
The hotel was within walking distance of the railway station approx 1 minute ,which was excellent for us as we used La Spezia as a base to visit Cinque Terre, Portofino etc so used the train every day. It was also however within walking distance to the town, shopping area etc and the Ferry port. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent ,a great choice of cold meats, pastries etc, hot items , bacon, eggs etc and freshly made pancakes fabulous. Very clean and gave the option of reusing the towels which I always think it a little step towards helping the environment. Couldn’t fault this hotel and would definitely use again if in La Spezia. La Spezia by the way is a nice little town with loads of great restaurants so always came there at night to eat.

United States of AmericaA regular door on the bathroom. It had a sliding door but it was not a big deal.
The room was nice and comfortable. The bathroom was a little cramped but it's Europe, so to be expected. The buffet breakfast was very good. The location is great, right across the street just a few steps down from the train station. The hotel is also not far from a very enjoyable town square area that has restaurants. The price of the room was good too. I wish we had stayed there in La Spezia instead of staying in Monterosso.

NetherlandsA minor detail was the showerhead, which was leaking a bit. Other than that, there is not much to complain about this hotel.
I stayed here for two nights in mid April. For visiting Cinque Terre, the location is probably the best you can get in La Spezia. Its about 50 meters from the train station. The hotel is clean and comfortable and has a surprisingly good restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpfull.

MexicoThe hotel seems to be past its prime, so it has tiny elevators but hotestly, that is not a deal breaker.
The location could not have been better. It was minutes from the main station, which allowed us to hop a train and explore Cinque Terre. The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable (except for the pillows). The bathroom in the lobby (and the bar attached) next door, were so beautiful and modern.
