It’s the best I’ve stayed in Italy! The view of the apartment was amazing, the place was very clean. The location was right in front of the dock to get water boat to get to the airport (or from airport), hence there’s no need to drag luggage across all the bridges and lanes in Venice. Elisa was super helpful and greeted me on arrival. I would highly recommend this place and definitely will stay here again if I’m back in Venice

Nothing - everything was perfect! This apartment will not disappoint.

Elisa was an excellent host - from the very first moment of booking, she was attentive, answered all of our questions and more, giving detailed information to help our arrival to be as smooth as possible. She gave suggestions of places to visit (we thoroughly recommend using the link for the rooftop terrace viewing that she will send you), and maps and a welcome guide were provided on arrival and all the information was easy to understand and really helpful. Written information in the apartment was provided in both English and French. The apartment was immaculate, and very well organised. It had everything we needed and everything was thought of. Elisa had provided an extra bed to make the second bedroom into a twin room for my teenagers and was able to send me photos ahead of our visit so I knew what to expect. We made use of the washing machine which was an added bonus. The apartment was located very conveniently to be able to use the water taxi from the airport, to the train station, and to the nearby islands of Murano and Burano. It was situated next to a main street enabling easy walking access to places of interest. We walked to St. Mark's Square in about 20 minutes. We were able to buy self-catering food supplies from the co op supermarket which was a short walk away. The area of the apartment is nice and quiet and not too touristy - the windows are sound-proofed so you did not even notice the boats / ferries coming and going outside, although the view was amazing and made this the perfect location to sit and watch Venice life go by...

Host Elisa waited for us at the dock and it was 36 C degree that day! not only she has prepared a great detailed, easy to follow visitor binder, she also spend twenty minutes to share her family's generations of knowledge living in Venice, from culture to how to maximum our stay.

From the moment our hostess met us at the ferry terminal to the time she had helped us on to the airport ferry 5 days later everything was just perfect. The apartment is beautiful, great views , great artwork, fully equipped kitchen with everything we could possibly have needed, even spare corks for the wine bottles. The wardrobes in the bedroom were so large with so many hangers of all types. The attention to detail in this apartment is amazing. There was nothing that we did not have or need. This apartment is in a great area of Venice, waterboat ferry terminals and ticket offices were so close, restaurants of all types were in abundance in the area. We walked to St Mark's Square once and it was so crowded on that side of the island, just delighted that we chose Casa Fondamente Nuove, a special place. We can't thank our hostess, Eliza enough for all the help, We enjoyed our stay immensely. .

We loved our stay at Casa Fondamente Nouve. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. We loved the neighborhood, which felt less crowded, less touristy, and more residential than most we saw. We felt extremely safe in the neighborhood and in the apartment. The Vaporetto stop is just outside the apartment, and it was an easy walk to locations such as Piazza San Marco and Ponte Rialto. Elisa was a wonderful host. She helped us find the apartment, settle in, and made great recommendations for where to eat and how to get around. She also met us on our departure to make sure we got on the correct Vaporetto to the train station. We enjoyed the comforts of the apartment including the air conditioners (it was hot in July), the nice shower, the kitchen, and the ability to wash our clothes. We would definitely stay again!

Elisa met us at the ferry and took us to the property. A wonderful , entertaining , and very helpful, presentation on what to do in Venice! Thank you so much Elisa. The property was excellent both in terms of location and views but everything worked and the decor was wonderful. Already planning a return but for longer than 3 days. Perhaps 10 days?

That we couldn't stay longer.

Like so many other reviewers' comments, this is an exceptional property. From the initial booking, Elisa was in contact with us. As a marvelous hostess, she met us at the water bus when we arrived (literally steps from the front door) and escorted us to the correct water bus when we left Venice. She provides maps and spent time with recommendations and explanations for every venue you can imagine. The apartment is very roomy, comfortable and modern--a smart blend of contemporary and classic. The bathroom is an impressive size for Europe. We came to love the Cannaregio area--the crowds are thinner, the pace is slower, it's quiet and we felt safe all the time. We also loved the boats and the views of the lagoon out the windows. Casa Fondamente Nuove is a wonderful choice!

The location must be the best in the whole of Venice! We were mesmerised by the waves right outside our window, the boats going to and fro, and the ease to walk down the little calli to anywhere we wished to see. The beautiful apartment itself is fit for an interior magazine - so thoughtfully designed and perfectly organised for a short or long vacation. Elisa is the ultimate Venetian host, who hugely helped our stay with tips and recommendations, and went above and beyond in meeting us as we arrived and departed. A pair of sun-blocking blinds in the living room would be ideal for the guest sleeping in the sofa bed.

Just about everything. We were particularly impressed by the personal care provided by the hostess Elisa. She not only greeted us at the dock on our arrival but also spent 30 minutes early in the morning to make sure we could board our Alilaguna boat to the airport when we were leaving. Ely was the most wonderful host and her apartment was absolutely fantastic. She met us where the water taxi dropped us off, walked us to our apartment, gave us a tour, provided a detailed information booklet in English about the apartment features, a map of the city and recommendations for restaurants, grocery, and banks. We were so impressed by the large bedroom with the most comfortable bed. Ely had all the essentials available for us right to chilling a bottle of champagne for us prior to arrival. Venice was such a spectacular city, a must see and do for anyone exploring Europe. The apartment, our host and the city of Venice was everything we could have ever dreamed and more :)

The place met all of our needs. No complains.

A nice, clean, very well stocked apartment in a not so busy part of town in Cannaregio. Enjoyed the easy access to all water taxis and to Alilaguna transportation from the Venice airport. Easy reach (15-20 mins walking) to Rialto Bridge, Piazza San Marco, etc. Plenty of good shopping and local restaurants close by. You won't miss too much of home when you are staying here ! Lastly, Elisa, the owner, was a very gracious and kind host who was always there for us to help with all of our needs, be it questions on local hang-outs and tickets to local attractions or transportation. She met us at the pier on our arrival and walked us to the pier on our departure.

The Apartment was authentically Venetian, spotless inside with a fully fitted kitchen and a washing machine. The location was quiet with a beautiful view of the Veneta Laguna, endless boats on the water with a beautiful sun rise and sunset. The islands of Murano and San Michele were also in view, just breathtaking. It was my first time in Venice and I am a vegan. So Elisa was exceptional, giving me details of vegan cafes and restaurants for me & my friend, which were amazing. She also met us at the boat station to take us to the apartment, and her husband kindly met us before we left to help with our luggage to catch the boat for the airport. I loved Venice and we did walk everywhere following advice from Elisa, had plenty of drinks and lunches at various cafes down the side streets and one cafe wouldn’t let us pay for our Venetian spritz drinks only a coffee because they had a water problem which we hadn’t noticed sitting outside, so kind.

Such a lovely property. This is my second time in Venice, and the first time I stayed on the Grand Canal and had a room with a view. It was wonderful, and I didn't think it could get any better, but I was wrong. At Casa Fondamente Nuove, the views and location are incredible! You can look out of either of the two large windows at any given time and be rewarded with an incredible scene. During the days the boats and water taxis are running up and down the waterway (not noisy); and then in the evening, you get to witness a beautiful sunset. Through the night, it is almost surreal opening up the window and just looking into the night at the docked boats, the water, and the distant lights of San Michele and listening to, well, nothing except the water lapping. There are quite a few wonderful cafes and restaurants along the water way with outdoor seating and delicious drinks and food. It is super safe walking in the evenings. We walked to the apartment from Venezia Santa Lucia train station. Easy walk for me. I am 60 and carry a backpack. My friend is a bit older and had a roller bag. Going up and down the bridges crossing the canals was a bit difficult for her, so we took the water ferry back. The ferry station to the Venezia Santa Lucia Train Station is out the door and a few steps down the water way. All the other usual sites were easy for us to walk to; but you could easily hop on the water taxi if you didn't want to walk. I would love to return and am thinking of rebooking as I type!

I have nothing but good things to say about this apartment. First, it was in an awesome location. Far enough away from the tourists, but only a 10 min walk from St Mark’s Square, and only a 2 min walk from the Fondamente Nove waterbus stop-very helpful to and from airport as well as taking the waterbus to see Murano & Burano, which is a must see if you have the time. The apartment was right on the canal so you have great views as well. Amazing amazing location. Elisa, our host, was also extremely helpful with a binder full of advise on what to eat, see, etc. She picked us up right from the ferry station to take us to our apartment and even walked us at 6am to see us off! This apartment was extremely well equipped with AC, a coffee maker, stove, dishwasher, as well as even a washing machine!

The apartment was beautiful. It was clean and had a great view from the windows. Great location too. We took a boat from the airport and the apartment was just in front of the boat stop. Elisa met us at the stop. We'd like to thank Elisa letting us stay at her beautiful apartment.
