Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyThere wasn't refrigerator and kettle ( plus mug or glasses for tea).
The breakfast was more than I expected and the cleaning service was great.

United KingdomThe walls of the rooms are quite thin and on this occasion the hotel was hosting a number of rather noisy workmen. Those in the room next door to us talked very loudly into the evening and also woke us in the morning before they left at 6am. This wasn't the hotel's fault of course. It is a very pleasant hotel and we will stay there again when we stop in Ventimiglia.
We have stayed here before. The staff are very friendly and efficient. We like the fact that the hotel is quite near the station but also near restaurants. The breakfast room is light and airy and there is a good range of food available. Also the wifi is very good. It is excellent value for money.

United KingdomVentimiglia is not the world's most appealing city. No reflection on the hotel itself though.
Everything you could need for an overnight stay, not ruling out longer stays in the cheap gap between the French and Italian Rivieras.

United States of AmericaThe Calypso is a small family run hotel in the center of town but on a very quiet side street. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The room and bathroom were spotless and well heated on this cold evening. Breakfast offers a selection of cold cuts and pastries. It is my hotel to go when I am transiting through Ventimiglia.

United KingdomPoor soundproofing. The inconsiderate guest in the next room was continually shouting into his phone or watching TV at a high sound level until the early hours. I also smelled the odour of cigarettes and suspected that some guests were illegally smoking.
Good location. Within comfortable walking distance from train station, seafront, restaurants and the upper old town. Helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable room. Breakfast included. Overall good value.

FranceSoundproofing and/or loud guests but I'm a light sleeper. It does seem to be an older building but it is, after all in Italy!
The location was great! Very central, close to the main streets of Ventimiglia and the beach. The staff were awesome, very friendly and helpful! Personally, the breakfast was varied with sweet buns, yogurt, a variety of cereals, cold cuts, cheese and fresh fruit! Very pleasantly surprised there! The room was on the smaller size but very clean. The added bonus of the small balcony and clothesline was much appreciated!

United KingdomExcellent location only a short walk away from the train station, restaurants, the seafront and the Friday market. The old town over the other side of the river, is also an easy walk away. The hotel is extremely clean and nice and bright. All the staff exude friendliness and without exception all very helpful.

RussiaMight be cheaper.
Good location, right between the railway station and the seaside. Nice and friendly staff. Clean and tidy room. Good breakfast for a hotel of this size. Nothing really to complain about. It may be a two star hotel nominally, but it is a really nice place to stay.

United Kingdomwould be nice to have complementary water in the room fridge. Nothing to complain about though
friendly staff, this hotel is an easy walk (with roller suitcase) from the train station, and a stroll from the beach. Good aircon and big bathroom, with a balcony overlooking the street. no elevator, so be aware you may need to lift luggage up several stairs. Decent breakfast with nice coffee. I had to stay an extra day and arranged late checkout no problem. A good, simple place to stay

ItalyThis hotel is a much better location than the last one I stayed in at Ventimiglia. It is near caffès, a gelateria that has really friendly staff, the beach and the railway station. It is a lovely little hotel with really nice rooms, comfortable beds and a very good breakfast with excellent service. I will definitely use it for my next stopover.
