Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

PolandThe cupboard was quite old so the drawers got stuck when I wanted to put something. Also, contrary to what’s written in the description, there’s no city view from the window. It’s just the street of a location far from the city centre. There was no kettle to boil water, and the stove was inaccessible to guests. So the only way to boil water was microwave, meaning that I could only boil one cup at a time. The neighbourhood is shady, and somewhat unsafe at night. Guests should be warned about that. The breakfast was simply store bought sweet food. There were three pieces of cakes “homemade”, and one of those got mold on it, so I didn’t touch any of those (especially since all three pieces were in the same closed container). But the host simply threw two pieces and never replaced it with fresh food. There were some fruits but overripe and never replaced. The bathroom was shared by all, including the hosts.
The room. It was spacious, and equipped with TV and AC. Location is far, but well connected by bus.

Czech RepublicClean, close to public transportation, from centrum take 40 mi by walk if you are too late 😃. Owner is great person. Comfortable beds, thinny walls 😃 we had room with bathroom wall 😃. Breakfast is typical italien, sweet cookies, croasant and coffee, tea, you have to make all by yourself, no serving. Surroundings is typical for italy 😀, dirty but on the otherhand perfect to see real life.

RomaniaThe host didn't allowed late checkout, not even to leave the luggage for few hours. So I had to keep my luggage with me for the rest of the day until going to the airport (not expecting that at all). The beds are very very soft and the walls are thin, if there are other guests in the property you can hear every noise. No nearby shops open until late, just a bar - open until midnight I guess.
Clean room and good breakfast but not variated from day to day.

BelarusOur arrival time was 14:00-15:00. The owner told us, that our room is number 4, but when we entered in the room there were clothes from other guests. The owner told us to take a seat and wait for her, she told us that she will arrive in 1 hour. After 3 hours(!!!) she told us, that she will not come to us. So, we leave our luggage and went to the city. When we returned to the hotel it was 20:00 and the room was ready. It was very bad situation. We spent a lot of hours in the hostel just to wait the owner and she did on came. Just imagine the situation, when you had the night flight and instead of chilling in the room you should wait at least 3 hours for the ready room :(

SpainNothing... Maybe it's a bit far from the city but even this has its perks, like for ex. the quiet area with very few noises from car e/o people.
Everything. Starting from the woman who owned the place, very kind and helpful. As a welcome gift she left a few slices of cake in the fridge, and the last day she even let us keep the keys a while longer... In the kitchen there was a fridge, a microwave, a coffeemachine and other utilities. The breakfast is very simple (jam, nutella and pre-packed snack) but for us it was enough and also the coffemachine was a nice touch. We could get coffee whenever we wanted... The room was big, clean with a big table to put our things and with air conditioning. Bathroom is (unfortunately) a shared bathroom but, other than the fact that we had to wait in the morning because the bathroom was often occupied, it was clean big and there were products that we could use.

PolandThe bed sheets were not changed after the previous tourists!!! One could easily recognize it! At midnight ( just before sleeping, when we found it out) I was calling to the stuff girl to ask about clean sheets, but she did not pick up. We put our towels on the beds, to sleep more higienic. The house surroundings terrible.
