If you're in a front facing room the cafe/bar next door plays really loud music but when we were there it finished by 10pm so not a problem.

The two brothers are really lovely and helpful and can't do enough for you. They were more than happy to accommodate soya and museli for breakfast Great rooftop area to chill after the chaos of Varanasi

Initially our room was not what we expected but Naveen found us a bigger room with air con for the second and third nights. The terrace is upstairs at the top of the building and a kettle is available on request.

Good location for walking to Assi Ghat. Naveen and his brother were excellent hosts and very helpful. Thanks so much, we really enjoyed our stay.

We had a very nice experience with Naveen welcoming us in Banaras Guest House. The room is clean and organized, I liked very much the many options of lights in the room. Tha mattress was good, the shower was very good, I got one with Air-co, so was good! We stayed there only for 2 nights... the breakfast was simple but very nice, Naveen´s chai is very delicios! He is very friendly and helped us with everything. Varanasi can be quite intense, so the enviroment in the guesthouse is important. I liked so much and I'm sure I could go back there to enjoy more days in Varanasi.

Ok the stairs were a bit steep but it did get you used to the steps around the Ghats.

Having arrived at midnight after the most hairy tuk tuk ride I’ve ever had from a station strewn with bodies and quite aggressive drivers all trying to get our custom I had Naveen from the hostel on the phone giving us assurance and directions to the driver. We arrived down a side street and were welcomed by the most laid back guy in varanasi. The place was clean, secure and the rooms set on 4 floors with a roof top seating area. Now this is not a 5 star place with all the frills that go with an establishment like that but here we had two genuine and helpful brothers, the second being Krishna, who made us feel at home, the shower was the best I’ve had so far. Then there was Golu our guide the next day on a walking tour. For anyone staying here go on it it was amazing walking through the Ghats. He was full of knowledge and we got an insight to the burning pyres from the priest, getting a close up to all that went on. I may say not for the faint hearted. Followed by the Ganga at Assi Ghat and a morning boat ride, unfortunately no sunrise due to cloud. You can get that cheaper if joining larger groups but it was very serene just the two of us. A take away curry on the roof top terrace finished off a memorable two nights stay in Varanasi. Oh and I forgot to mention the lovely simple breakfast served and cooked by Naveen on the terrace. Coffee, omelette, toast butter and Jam and banana to start the day 🙏

Great stay in this guesthouse, run by 2 lovely brothers. You re 5 mins walk from the ghat. My first room was the single one, but for a small fee, I upgraded to the double with an ensuite. It s very quiet in the alleyways, so there is no traffic noise at night. Would definitely stay again.

Arriving at the hostel is a little confusing at first, but the next day you already know the way by heart.

The best thing about the hostel was the staff, who were very helpful to travellers and liked to share with them. The facilities are comfortable and it was close to one of the main Ghats. I recommend it.

They lock the house at night and you need to wake them up if you want to leave. Awkward.

The location is great and the rooms are clean and tidy. Staff is keen to help and have resolved all my issues straight away. The location is very handy.

Banaras guest house was in a great location, a few minutes walk from Assi Ghat. The breakfast we were served was great. We really appreciated Naveen staying up for us to let us check in late as our train was running 5 hours late. He helped us organise a walking tour as well. Golu was our guide and he was great. He was professional and had lots of information.

A quiet location on a small alleyway 50m from the road. Means it is quiet from horns beeping. Bed was comfortable and had hot shower, a/c and fan. Breakfast was tasty and served on the roof terrace. Naveen and his brother very helpful with suggestions of places to eat etc. good English spoken. It’s a safe area near Assi Ghat - the very first/last ghat in Varanasi. We couldn’t walk along them due to the high levels of water but the old city of Varanasi is either a gentle 40 minute amble along narrow lanes or a tuk tuk (200 rps max). It was also 200rps from Banaras or Varanasi Junction train stations. A bar plays music till 10.30pm next door but it did not disturb us. Only stairs up to rooms so not good if you have mobility issues.

Very clean. Good wifi and AC. Great location. Hosts are very helpful and friendly. Both managers speak fluent English and some other languages too! We extended our stay given the welcomming atmosphere. Definitely recommended 😁

Be aware, due to its location it’s also a quite noisy and dirty neighborhood.

The location is perfect to explore the ghats and temples. I arrived sick and Naveen and his brother took care of me very well. Thanks again for the oats in the morning and making me feel secure.
