Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Serbia- TV: It was not a big deal for us because we don't watch TV a lot but there were only 12 Hungarian language channels available. - Noise insulation: from the bedroom we could hear a bit too well every noise the neighbors made if they were around. Also, since we were right under the roof, when it rained the rain was very loud. - Communication: after we booked, one week in advance, we sent several messages in English to the owners (they speak English for sure, that's how we communicated) but we got absolutely no reply. Until we actually got there we traveled in apprehension whether we would have a booking or not because of the "radio silence". Once we got there we called to see how to check in (thankfully someone picked up) and we were directed to a box to pick up keys and informed we would pay at check-out. The same thing happened at check-out though. WE called to remind them we want to pay but they were sleeping (Sunday morning) and told us to leave the cash somewhere.
The pension is in an 8 apartment two-story house next to a sports field in a quiet and pretty neighborhood. There is a big private parking in the back. It is self-check-in. The rooms were spacious enough and almost everything seemed new and very clean. We visited in April so there was heating, it was very warm. The bed in the bedroom seemed new and was very comfortable but the sofa in the living room was only usable on half of it when unfolded because the armrests were hard. The Internet connection posed no problems. The kitchen had pretty much everything you need (fridge, microwave oven, an electric kettle, cooker, plates, cups, utensils, pots, cutting board) and seemed clean. I do recommend bringing some slippers with you to use on the tiled parts, some extra soap (in the bath there was just liquid soap at the sink), a hair dryer (there was one in the bathroom in the wall, like they have in spas, but it was not working for some reason), a kitchen wipe cloth for wiping the table down (there was only a sponge and a dishtowel), a proper knife (there was just a bread knife). The owner was only reachable through phone but he did accommodate our requests.
