Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBreakfast was just ok. Not enough sun beds. Allowed people to save sun beds so that half of them sat unused for most of the day.
Tranquil setting, large rooms, availability of spa facilities. Lovely views. Arranged a lovely evening boat cruise for B our family group.

United KingdomThe kitchenette is not as described as there is only a two ring electric hob and a refrigerator. There is no microwave or any crockery or cutlery provided making it unusable. The refrigerator also serves as a minibar. The area in front of the hotel is not in reality like the pictures, there are no sun beds or umbrellas they have been positioned for the photographs. The beach is not a beach at all as there is no sand and to enter the sea is off the rocks which is far too dangerous for older people. There is a pebble beach within walking distance but not part of the hotel so you have to hire the beds and brollies. If you don’t get to the swimming pools early there are insufficient beds with the usual antisocial practice of reserving with towels. The hotel restaurants and bars are not busy as they are quite expensive so most visitors walk into Lapad via the promenade. The food is costly where ever you go and not of good quality, particularly the seafood for a coastal resort is very disappointing.
The Deluxe room with sea view and balcony is very large and more like a suite having a separate lounge area and two bathrooms. The bed is extra large and very comfortable. The breakfast has plenty of choices and if you ask the serving staff for poached eggs they will be supplied by the kitchen, similarly a proper coffee from the barista rather than from a self serve machine if requested although this service isn’t plainly obvious. There is also a grill facility for omelettes, fried eggs etc.. There is various entertainment in the evening. Towels are available for the pool from the Spa. If you have a late departure and cannot hold onto your room you can use the Spa to shower and change. If you hire a car there is plenty of parking outside the hotel on the roadside, saving the 10 euros a day parking charge. The bus stop is a short walk away and they run frequently to Dubrovnik town for two euros each. A Uber is about 8 euros whilst a taxi will cost 25 to 30 euros and parking in town is about 10 euros.

United StatesWe were very happy with the suite and accomodations. In 2019, our family stayed at the same hotel, Royal Princess,Dubrovnik, and we decided tocome back again this year! Buffet breakfast has wonderful options and the staff is excellent. Also, seaview suite was great! One disappointment for this year 2024, Princess pool was closed and there were no chairs or lounge chairs on the premises by the sea.As a family, we love to be outdoors, and that limited our time by your beautiful coastline.

United KingdomFor such a high end hotel the public spaces and extras were disappointing. Tea and coffee making facilities were basic and sparse - towels in our room didn’t feel hotel quality - very small - not a big problem but pool areas were very disappointing and no pool towels available - so room towels had to double up - only very minor but small tweaks would make a big difference.
Fantastic location with wonderful view from the enormous suite. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Friendly staff.

EstoniaThe room was very nice and the sea view is well worth its price. The room we used easily fits 4 (2 adults and 2 children), having two bathrooms was very convenient. Breakfast was excellent, especially the omlette bar. The hotel is part of a bigger royal hotel complex with various restaurants, possibility to swim the sea, spa etc. Also tried the spa, very good. Connection to Dubrovnik old town via bus was very simple and convenient. Would definitely recommend this place. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

United KingdomI had booked several rooms for my party and while rooms at the front matched our expectations., we found that some of rooms at the rear were worse than others ; some had bins next to to terrace space and that it is not really suitable for a hotel of that standard, perhaps bins should be placed elsewhere. Some rooms overlooked the carpark, hence should be classified differently from the rest in that category/price. Some of the guests therefore decided to upgrade, but the difference in price was rather steep and ended up being much more expensive than what we had paid for sea view via booking. Communication between staff teams could also improve for the sake of clarity and consistency.
Beautiful hotel and location. Excellent breakfast and Spa facilities. Very helpful staff.

AustraliaNothing!
Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) absolutely loved our stay at this gorgeous hotel! Our family room was luxurious and huge with spectacular views of the ocean and Lapad bay. The pools, sauna and gym facilities were great and the Buffet breakfast was outstanding!! Staff were also really friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a quiet area and is a nice walk along the beach into the main part of Lapad and an easy 15 minute bus or taxi ride into the old town.
