Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaA tiny bit noisy but it was absolutely quiet by 11:00 pm. Would have really appreciated some coffee or tea since there was a kettle. Only one hair/body wash which was very teeny tiny… but the local store only sold 200 ml sizes which we couldn’t travel with. We would have brought our own had We known. No conditioner at all.
Location, location, location! Window overlooking one of the main pedestrian walkways -so very entertaining. No need to go spend money sitting in a cafe people watching, just look from the window! A very lively location above a souvenir shop and ice cream shop. Entrance was on the backside of the street beside the Indian Restaurant. Recommend the Indian food by the way!

United StatesSince there is no housekeeping, it would have been great to have a little bit of dish soap and a broom to keep the place a bit more tidy during my stay.
The location was perfect, right in the middle of Old Town.

Austriaunfortunately, at night it is a very noisy place, but i believe, anything in this area would be. A very small room and a very hot one, it is located on the 5th floor without elevator, so, be careful if you are not used to stairs. i would also include breakfast options or some vouchers
The location is supernice. You can easily reach both the beach and all major attractions, taxi station, shops and restaurants. Room clean and checkin guys are friendly.

SerbiaOnly thing that I would pointed out as a thing I did not like, was that we were not able to leave the luggage on the Reception of the property. It was told that the Reception is in the other building, and that only guests from that property are allowed to leave their luggage there. We were offered with some other places nearby to leave the luggage for the price of 5euros.
The location is even better, than it was in the pictures. The room is located in the main street overlooking Stradun. The room was very nice, clean and tidy, with excellent view.

ItalyYou have to climb 3 stairs to get to the room, it’s not very easy with heavy luggages! The bathroom room doesn’t close. I was not able to light on the tv. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and it actually got me back pain in the morning. The double bed is actually 2 beds put together
I particularly appreciated the location, we had a view over the Stradun. It was very nice being in the heart of Old Town

United StatesOverhead light didn't work. Also, there's a heated towel dryer in the bathroom which would be great to dry clothes after swimming but sadly that didn't work either. The whole needing to get the front Door key via lockbox each time you're coming back to the guest house is annoying. Either provide each guest with a key to the front or have a digital doorlock. The noise could also be an issue especially on the weekends due to the nearby pubs and restaurants.
Self check-in was a breeze with clear instructions on accessing the room. You can't beat the location as it's right in the heart of Old Town and minutes from the Pile Gate where you can get taxis and most of the tours start. Comfortable bed and room was fine for 1 person.

United StatesThe room was much smaller than expected, especially the bathroom. Cups/mugs/bowls were available but no cutlery/silverware, so it was difficult to have quick breakfast for the super early day trips.
The location was excellent. Five minutes from the Pile Gate. Steps from restaurants, shops and taxis.

United KingdomMinimal kit in kitchen and various things broken... Only 2 glasses (no wine/small glasses), no bowls, no scissors, knife handle broken so dangerous, tiny fridge high up which things fell out of on opening, no dishcloth, shower door hanging off, no holder for shower head. TV box wouldn't work, TV wouldn't turn off. 3 flights of narrow steep stairs.
Location fab. Comfy bed. A/C worked. Key system worked. Lots of sockets.

BelgiumAlthough the location was nice and the apartment looked fine on the first sight, the AC wasn’t working so it was almost as hot inside as outside. During our two night stay this wasn’t fixed, even after mentioning it to our host. Also the room wasn’t cleaned properly. There was sand everywhere and the glases were not cleaned thoroughly. Wouldn’t recommend this place. Too much money for what you get in return!
It was in the center of the old city.

United StatesIf you are staying room 4 it would have been nice to know you have to traverse many steps (3 stories) in a small winding stairway. If you have heavy luggage it can be challenging. We asked for two extra pillows and were told they didn't have any.
The location of the Lumin Guest House is great. It adjoins the main street in Old Town section of Dubrovnik. The town is amazing. It was easy to get anywhere in town in a short period of time. If you like watching people you can look out your window and see lots of people walking day and night. We were on the top floor (3rd - Room 4). You could hear some noise but it was very faint. The room was not overly large but it did have an adjoining kitchenette and bathroom. It was clean.

AustraliaThe apartment is located on the main thoroughfare in old town, making it an extremely noisy location. The usual clamour of tourists through the day gives over to loud raucous yelling from 11.00pm until 3.00am, so if it's a good night's rest you're after then look elsewhere for your accommodation. Then, to add insult to injury, you have the sound of the street cleaners from 4.00 am.

United StatesThe main detractor of the property is that their windows aren’t thick enough to block out the sound from outside, so it’s quite loud until maybe 2-3 in the morning and then again at 530 am or so because of the people cleaning the streets. It would be worth it for them to invest in windows that blocked more of the noise for sure. Also, the bathroom was super tiny (which was fine, but could be uncomfortable) and be aware that the stairway is also really narrow and there’s the potential to have a lot of stairs to climb with your bags.
The location is great, right in the middle of the old town. The room was clean and had plenty of toiletries available. The check in and out process was easy. The decor was cute. The AC worked well.

NetherlandsThe walls are paper thin, I got a neighbor on day 3 and got woken up at 1 o’clock in the morning because she/he dropped something on the floor. It was hard work lugging my big suitcase up to the 4th floor, but it comes with the territory of staying in the Old Town.
Love, love the location! Small attic apartment with all the necessary amenities, including bar fridge. Bathroom was nice and modern.
