Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe only small concern was that the balcony was not private and was shared with others.

United StatesThe location of the apartment is very close to the old town. It took us around 5 minutes to reach it. Additionally, you can see the old town and the island Lokrum from the balcony. The view was beautiful. The facilities were very good. The kitchen has stoves and a fridge, so cooking is possible. The bed was one of the most comfortsble beds I have slept on and the host was extremely helpful. He explained to us how to find everything we needed and was very hospitable. Just bear in mind that the fastest way to the old town includes stairs.

United KingdomThe room was nicely sized, we appreciated the a/c to cool down a bit after a hot day. The view from the balcony was lovely and we enjoyed siting outside in the evenings. Even though the balcony cannot be accessed from the room directly, it provides plenty of privacy. The hosts were very friendly as well as the housekeeping. The location is great, 10 mins from the old town, the cable car station is just down the road and there is a beach just down the steps (many, many steps but that's inevitable in Dubrovnik).

RussiaNot really a big issue, but the entrance to the terrace was not from the apartment, but from a common area, so it didn't feel totally private. On the other hand, our windows overlooked the back garden, and not the road, so it was pretty quiet, and we still had the sea view.
A very nice apartment with a terrace overlooking the Adriatic and the old city of Dubrovnik. Pretty close to the beach, although high above the sea, which is almost inevitable in Dubrovnik. Very friendly owners, looking after their guests very well. They insisted on replacing towels after two nights, and made sure we had everything we needed. They also provide beach towels, which is really helpful, especially if you want to take the last swim shortly before the flight and don't want to travel with wet towels. The kitchen is tiny, but you have all the basic stuff there, and anyway, you probably don't plan to cook three meals a day.

GermanyA few tiny ants were coming up through a shaft in the bathroom.
The beach, supermarket, bus stop and most importantly Old Town are all within 5 minutes walking distance. The location doesn't get any better than this. The view from the terrace is exactly as shown in the pictures, gorgeous! The hosts were kind and helpful, even offered me a beer. :) Would definitely stay here again.

South AfricaThere was no bin in the kitchen area. The little bin in the bathroom was not big enough for two days waste.
Great location. The owners were kind enough to store our luggage as well as organise a taxi for us to the airport.

United KingdomWe had a lovely stay at Rose Garden. The hosts were really lovely and helpful. They even left us toiletries and some drinks and brought us some snacks throughout our stay! Linen was changed regularly and there was always someone available to ask questions if needed. The apartment was well located, just 5 minutes from the beach and the Old Town, so I thought it was good value for money. We had all the facilities we needed and the views from the terrace are amazing. Would definitely stay again.

FranceNothing, everything was impeccable.
Huge thank you to the host family for their warm-hearted welcome🌺 Amazingly situated, the room is clean with impeccable service of regular changing the towels. You do not need to worry about your baggage : you will be offered everything you need at place (like a hair dryer or little equiped kitchen). The large bed was super comfy. 5 minutes to the beach, 2 minutes to the airport shuttle bus and the cable car. We recommend you to hike on feet! And the view!

NetherlandsIf you travel and wish to stay longer than just a holiday and want to cook, the kitchen is a bit too small, no table, just the sink and the stove, but for us that only used the fridge and the water boiler it was excellent!
Wonderful location (close to old town but quiet area so you can actually sleep at night, close to the beach, close to where the airport shuttle bus drops you and takes you to the airport too, close to the cable car, close to supermarkets, easy to reach, host lives there so check in and out easy too). The apartment had everything you needed, it's neat, the hosts are very nice too, plus one of the best views from the balcony we really enjoy spending a lot of time during the too hot to go out times. Loved their pet tortoise who came visiting every day :D

New ZealandOur room was very small for two people. The kitchen was basic with no microwave and only one power socket so high up the wall that appliance cords were not long enough to reach it. We were intending to make our own meals while at Rose Apartments as eating out in Dubrovnik is super expensive, but meal preparation in such a cramped space was a real challenge. It was manageble for 2 day stay but no longer. The front apartments with sea views were more spacious.
The views from the balcony were amazing. We booked the back apartment which faced the garden but we also had exclusive use of a sea facing balcony. We really loved the fact that the owners were on site and greeted us on arrival. After 6 weeks of travel staying in many contactless entry apartments it was refreshing to stay in a place where there were interactions with owners and other guests. There was a bus stop a few metres down the road. Rose Apartments is just a short downhill walk to the Old Port and city with the option of catching a bus back up the hill to the apartment if the 90 steps feel a bit much. We regret not buying the 3 day Dubrovnik Pass for 45 Euros per person as it includes the 35 Euro wall walk, most of the museums and local buses. I strongly suggest visiting the main tourist information centre to get advice when you arrive as we were given incorrect tourist information by several ticket sellers possibly because of language barrier.

United Kingdomits a lot smaller than you think and not all have balconies with sea view to the front. ours was at the side . still a lovely view but not what I was expecting. Bed was big so that’s good. unfortunately you can here a pin drop in the other apartments , so if someone is up for early checkout you will be woken up. think I had 2 good sleeps out of 7. The water pipes are so noisy. our shower needed a very good clean and repair. kitchen area v small but functional.
The property is in a fantastic location very friendly hosts and there if you need anything at all.

RussiaThe room is very small. The terrace is not connected to the room, but is across the hall. The kitchinette has no worktop. The noise of running water in the next room is very loud. The last hour of our stay was spoilt by the owner who shouted at us that we must "get out immediately". We were surprised and upset by this rudeness. The day before we asked them to postpone our checkout as much as possible due to our late flight and the owner authorized us to stay until 12 a.m. (just to be sure we repeated after the owner and the owner re-confirmed the time). But, obviously, after what happened, we left immediately, at 11:45 a.m. Nearly right away we received an email from booking.com that the owner has marked our booking as no-show. We suppose that it was done on purpose, so that we would not be able to leave a feedback. But thanks to booking.com support we were provided a special link and could leave this review. Thank you, guys. In the end, when we paid the property directly via bank transfer (booking.com fully refunded us after the "no-show"), we recieved excuses from the owners and were offered two days free, if we decided to stay there next year. That was nice, but we would prefer not face this situation in the first place.
A wonderful position. Just a few minutes away from the Old City and Banje beach. A very nice terrace with a beautiful side view of the sea. The bed is really big and comfortable. The air conditioning was working and with window blinds the light didn't disturb us in the morning. We arrived late and it was very nice of the owner to prepare for us a big plate of salami, prosciutto, cheese and eggs, water and a bottle of beer. A very friendly welcome. The towels have been changed several times during our week stay. We did not have to buy anything for the apartment: there was toilet paper, cleaning product for dishes, even liquid soap and shampoo.
