Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandAll was good.
Everything. Our host was fantastic, she brought us espressos ,juice and cake on arrival, and then every day of our stay. And we welcomed the espressos with open arms to help us through the heat of the day. She brought us fresh towels every day and gave us plenty of help regarding ferry / bus routes. The place was super clean, and in a brilliant location close to all amenities. I would recommend.

GermanyOur luggage was too heavy to carry up. If you have heavy luggage like ours, take a taxi from the bus stop or ferry stop to avoid the stairs.
Our best memory was from this apartment. The view from the balcony was amazing, and the apartment was close to the old town. Jelena was also a warm and lovely lady.

Jelen’s apartment is underneath a traditional Croatian house with beautiful gardens and a private terrace overlooking the old town. The one bed apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable to stay in. It was perfectly located to explore the old town of Dubrovnik , catch boat/ferry trips from the old harbour/port and a 2 min walk to the airport bus stop. It is an easy walk into and out of the old town if you enter the Ploce Gate and walk down the path to the main square (far less steps involved with the entrance to the wall walk on this route too). However, what really made Jelen’s apartments special was the host Jelena who made our Dubrovnik stay very memorable. She is very kind and hospitable and the added bonus was the espresso, orange juice and freshly baked goodies she provided every morning to breakfast on the terrace.

The apartment had everything we needed, the stunning views from the terrace were a bonus! Perfect location near the old town and transport links. There are some steps up to the apartment (like everywhere in Dubrovnik) but an easy, manageable amount. Jelena treated us to her wonderful homegrown lemons, freshly brewed espresso, and delicious cakes, all with a smile and helpful local advice - we felt privileged to have her as our host, thank you!!

FranceAbsolutely nothing at all. Everything about our stay was perfect.
I recently stayed at Apartments Jelen in Dubrovnik, and my experience was nothing short of excellent. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making it a perfect home away from home. The highlight of my stay was the incredible hospitality of Jelen, the owner. She is an amazing woman who went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. Every morning, she greeted us with a warm smile and offered us delicious coffee and homemade cake. Her kindness and attention to detail truly made our stay special. Jelen’s genuine care and helpful nature added a personal touch that you rarely find in other accommodations. Her local recommendations and willingness to assist with anything we needed were greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Apartments Jelen to anyone visiting Dubrovnik. The combination of a fantastic apartment and Jelen’s outstanding hospitality makes this a perfect place to stay. Thank you, Jelen, for making our visit to Dubrovnik unforgettable!

United KingdomIt was perfect.
Wonderful accommodation and lovely welcoming host. We booked both the studio and the apartment for us and our family. Both were exactly what we expected with a lovely garden area overlooking Dubrovnik Bay. Perfect location for walking into the old town. There are a number of steps but Dubrovnik is full of steps!!! Our host Yellen frequently brought us coffee, orange juice and delicious home made cakes. She changed our towels and cleaned the apartments every day.

FranceIf all that I can complain about are the steps, then they are a price worth paying. We will certainly be back.
What fabulous reception from Jelena. She deserves 9 stars, at least. From welcoming coffee and cake to the same + orange juice every morning. Sitting out on the terrace overlooking Old Dubrovnik, stunning. Room serviced every day and all with a beautiful smile. Thank you.

SwedenJelen was such a lovely person who greeted me with a nice espresso and apricot pastry on arrival. She is extremely kind, thoughtful and has a great place to stay. The location is so close to the old town and I think but tucked away enough for it to be quiet too. Really lovely stay!

Hong KongWe had to climb up around 20 stairs to reach the apartment from the road, with two big suitcases.
Espresso, orange juice and biscuits were brought upon every single morning, even though we had to set off for a day trip at 6am. It exceeded my expectation! The host was direct but very nice. She was passionate about making the place clean and tidy. Overall highly recommended!!

UkraineJelen (the owner of the apartment) is a very nice, good and pleasant woman. The apartment was always clean. Every morning she brought me a cup of coffee, delicious desserts and orange juice. I had my birthday when I was in Dubrovnik and Jelen wished me a happy birthday. She gave me beautiful gifts🥰. It was extremely pleasant for me🥰. Jelen also told me a lot of interesting things about Dubrovnik, which places are important to visit, which places should be seen. It was very useful and valuable for me. I recommend Jelen apartments to everyone!

CanadaEverything was great!
Host was very welcoming and provides espresso juice and cake at checkin and mornings! Location was perfect: 5 min to nicest gate to old town, keep going another 5 min to banje beach (packed but I rented SUP there and could paddle to quieter beaches without walking in the heat), bus and airport shuttle literally at bottom of Jelena’s stairs and gorgeous view from garden patio. Super quiet and a great break from busy summer crowds having a mini kitchen to eat some simple meals. AC as well!

United States of AmericaThere are a lot of stairs, however this is an issue you will face anywhere in Dubrovnik. Tried to do laundry in the sink and had some trouble, but there are laundromats nearby.
We spent 5 nights here. The apartment is exactly like the pictures and Jelena was an incredibly kind host. She even went above and beyond and welcomed us with sweets and espresso! It's a safe and quiet area. The location is perfect and right outside of the Old Town (which I recommend). It's also just a staircase away from the bus stop to the airport and for day trips to Cavtat, etc. Excellent air conditioning, amenities, kitchen, sitting space, outdoor patio, and big comfy bed - I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

EstoniaOur stay was too short, we wish we would stay longer :)
If we could rate this apartment 20, we would. If you want Dubrovnik feel like home, then this is the right place to stay. Jelena is very carying, kind, polite, keeps the accomodation clean and cozy, provides with fresh towels very often, the garden is gorgeous! She serves delicious coffee and sweets as a compliment and drinking coffee in a fairy garden is a real joy. Jelena is more than just a host, she will be a part of your Dubrovnik experience. The house is a bit up on the hill, however it is also an advantage: it was always fresh and cool there, also quiet. If you get lucky enough you will meet Bruce and the turtles next door. Two entrances to the old city are in 7 minutes walk, the Banje beach is in 12-15 minutes walk, the shutle bus to the airport (also buses to other cities) is just down the stairs, same for the cable car station, old port is in 15 minutes walk (boat to Locrum, sea tours). We can recommend the Tabasco pizzeria near Jelena's place.

United States of AmericaWe were very comfortable and have no complaints at all. Everything was good.
Jelen is a perfect host: welcoming, gracious, generous. The apartment is immaculately clean, spacious, and in very good condition. There is a terrace/patio with umbrella and a view of the old city and the sea. It is an easy walk (provided you do not mind stairs) to the old city and the cable car. The city bus stop is a few steps away. There is a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator and stove top.

Wonderful place to stay. It was perfect for a couple of nights and Jelen looked after us very well. She is a super, kind host. The studio has a small, well equipped kitchen and a comfy bed. It has a lovely little patio area directly outside with table and chairs and a nice view. Quiet at night. It's situated just up from where you get the cable car and about a 10 minute walk to Ploce Gate leading into the old town. The airport bus stops at the Gate and it isn't too far to wheel a carry-on bag uphill. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
