Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaNot to say i didnt like just for room of improvement, maybe you can tell beforehand that you will charge customers a sum of deposit for us to better prepare.
Everything! Location is strategic, not too centre but so easy to get to public transportation. The bus stop is just opposite the hotel and the nearest MTR is Sai Ying Pun station which is 450m from the hotel. You can take the nearest tram too. Staffs are really friendly and helpful. Interior design of this hotel is to my liking and the very reason I chose the place. They served free flow of carbonated drinks and peanuts at the lounge.

AustraliaNot a big issue but would have liked some bench space in the bathroom.
The place has very good styling. Really liked the common area and the happy hour facilities. Serviced by buses outside and MRL not far away.

FinlandAir con was very loud. And kitchenette could have had a few things more; a microwave and a cutting knife to peel fruits. Also we were three and there were two of everything (such as cups and utensils).
Room was very nice. Clean ja comfy. Kitchenette was a plus. Beds were very good.

Absolutely amazing property, in the heart of Sheung Wan, near Soho House and Ibis Hotel. Fully renovated rooms, amazingly helpful staff (Venezia and Marco were very great) and a big bonus of nice terrace on the lobby where you can have your coffee and drinks. Truly a gem

The place is super nice, the room was equipped with everything you might need, and very clean. It's central and close to areas with restaurants and bars and it's quite easy to get everywhere from there. Added value the lobby where you can find snacks and beverage 24/7 and a happy hour in the late afternoon

NetherlandsThe bedroom was quite humid (due to HK’s humidity), so we asked for a dehumidifier and that really helped. The airconditioning worked well but sometimes quite noisy, and a bit smelly (food?!) in the bathroom in some cases.
The room was very spacious and the location was very ideal! We got a free upgrade and the hotel staff were so friendly. We also liked the free drinks in the lounge area.

United StatesThere was one instance where a fire alarm went off. We didn't know what to do so just went down to the lobby and the staff simply said: false alarm. This was early in the morning and we just felt like they could have been more communicative to guests about the false alarm like being the one to approach us and reassure that nothing is wrong.
Location was good for getting away from the super hectic area of Hong Kong. Room was good value for money: clean, nice design, maximized space. Service was swift and reliable.

United KingdomThere was a steep step into the bathroom which you had to watch especially coming out of the bathroom. It would have been good to have soap by the wash-hand basin.
A good size centrally located apartment with separate comfortable bedroom and sitting room. The bathroom with a walk-in shower was very good. Light refreshments available from the shared facilities next to the reception.

AustraliaThe bathrooms were a tad small with very limited bench space for toiletries, the shower was very small too.
Rooms were modern and very spacious by Hong Kong standards, the free drinks in the communal area is a very nice touch (don't have to worry about running out of water in the middle of the night). The location was pretty good - easy to take a bus from the airport to the hotel, a short walk to the MTR stations, plenty of convenient stores, laundromats, restaurants and bars nearby

AustraliaThe aircon is a bit noisy, but otherwise nothing to complain about. The place is not a design hotel - but it's more than adequate aesthetically, for ease + comfort.
Comfortable + reasonably priced hotel in an excellent area. Not glamorous, but very cosy + the little balcony is lovely for a wine + a nice view over Sheung Wan.

United StatesThe shower room's drainage was poor, causing water to drain slowly. If you enjoy long showers, you might find yourself standing in a small pond.
The room was spacious enough for two people. I appreciated the room's brightness and its home-like design. The ample closet space was a plus, as we stayed for 5 nights. Free beverages such as coffee, beer, and bottled water were provided. The staff were kind and helpful. I left a personal item in my room and only realized it two days after checking out. The hotel staff assisted me with my lost item, which I really appreciated.
