Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bed was a bit firm, but it was fine. The hotel amenities are very basic, so it's recommended to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, facial wash, body wash, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Personally, I didn’t mind this, as I prefer using my own products.
The room was spacious than i thought. Good value for money. And the owner of the hotel was very kind and attentive. It took me about 20-30 minutes from the hotel to Fira bus stop which i found pretty convenient.

South AfricaTry and avoid a room next to the main road. Can be noisy.
The location was very good just on the edge of Fira but handy for all amenities. Mr Babis and his son were excellent. They could not do enough for us. Recommendations, taxi bookings , days out. Nothing was too much trouble.

IrelandVery friendly staff, help me with everything I needed. Very prepared to receive customers, they have tours and transfers to the airport as well. My room was ready so they let me do my check in advance. Even after the check out, they let me use the facilities and pool of the hotel, also leave my luggage’s in a safe place. Super recommended!

NetherlandsRoom small for family of 4. Room should have 1 double bed and 1 bunk bed for kids to have more space. But overall every thing is fine
Mr basis is very friendly and helpful. Shared all required information about Santorini and near by facilities. Stay: value for money. Room: for family of four is small instead of 4 single bed if room have I double bed and 1 bunk bed will help family of 4 to get more space in room. Terrace: if ultimate good advantage to hotel and good sunrise view. Swimming pool: for relaxing holiday it’s adding extra advantage. Bus stop near by to go to Fira or to beaches. Over all stay is value for money

United StatesThe shower stall area is small enough that you have a shower curtain clinging to you when you wash your legs.

New ZealandWe had a great stay at Babis Hotel. Mr Babis and his father were amazing, letting us check in early and giving us recommendations of things to do during our stay, we were even greeted with a glass of orange juice! The room was perfect, the air conditioning was amazing, comfortable beds and had everything we needed! The location of the hotel is great for exploring Santorini, the bus stop is a 5 minute walk into Fira, or the walk is about 15-20 minutes. The village of Karterados also had several restaurants we tried too. We had breakfast at the hotel both mornings and it was great with coffee, orange juice, toasts, Greek yogurt and cake. We would definitely stay again!

A lovely traditional hotel in a great location. The staff were very hospitable and helpful. Even though I only stayed one night they allowed me to store my luggage and use the pool following check out until 8pm when I had to go to the airport. This was fantastic as I had already seen the highlights of Santorini and just wanted to relax on my last day. The breakfast was simple but satisfying and was served individually including a good coffee, rather than a buffet. I liked this and at 7 euro it was good value for money. Communication was excellent and they sorted my transfers efficiently and at reasonable rates. I would return to this hotel if I go back to Santorini in the future.

FinlandThe room was small with little place to hang stuff. Even the renovated balcony did not have a clothes line! Bedsheets had small old stains. The bedroom was really miniscule, barely usable, in need of complete renovation. The safe in the built-in closet worked with a large key. The pool area was next to a busy road and very hot, the potted plants did not help much. The biggest issue was the 300 m walk to the bus stop or village center along the busy road: there are no pavements and the hotel has built walls right next to the road, leaving no space for pedestrians. A side entrance to the pool area would really be appreciated.
The hotel is clean and well maintained with new balcony doors+windows (incl. lightproof shutters), a modern quiet A/C unit, decent beds (on the very hard Greek scale). The pool, although small and shallow (max 1.8 m), was a plus. The only good thing about the location is logistics, almost all buses stop in Karterados. There was even a digital time table at the bus stop. The village has several nice tavernas, a good cafe/bakery and a supermarket. The walk to Thira is not long, but still sweaty in the middle of the day. There's even a dedicated pavement along the main road almost all the way to Thira center. Alternatively, buses are air conditioned, frequent and cheap (2€).
