Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

PolandI know the hostel is supposed to undergo a renovation soon, so here are some suggestions :) I think it’d be great if there were some sort of curtains installed to beds, to give a bit more privacy. Maybe better lockers, so that every bed has its own, similar in size one. I don’t know how big this renovation is going to be, but the windows were I think only single glass, which is quite typical for London from what I’ve seen, and also they didn’t close properly in our room, which means it does get cold at night and also really loud from the street noise, so maybe changing the windows would be a nice addition :)
Location of this hostel is easily the best of the other ones I’ve stayed at before! Hostel was clean, it was great to have a full bathroom in a room as well as additional toilet and shower in the corridor. Each bed had a reading light and usb port. There were only a few rooms on each floor which was also nice. It did get really cold in the room at night, but duvets were so warm that we were actually getting quite hot while sleeping 😅

GermanyNot so quiet were the bed sheets, I suppose there was some kind of plastic underneath. So they make quite a lot of noise when someone turns around. But that is just a very tiny inconvenience. Overall it was a very good hostel.
Great Hostel, great location, very clean and friendly. Everything there you might need and a super nice extra: the sound-proof bathroom: I couldn‘t hear a thing when someone took a late night shower! Regular hostel users know that loud bathrooms can be annoying.

CroatiaThis is just my preference, but mattress was a bit too hard for my liking. And street noise, I know it’s not something they can affect but if someone is light sleeper and has trouble sleeping it’d be good to know.
I really liked how clean it is. Also the location, it’s few minutes walk from underground. Rooms are decent size and everyone is super nice.

NetherlandsThe matrasses were really thin and there was dust in the room that seemed to be there ever since the 1960s. A refurbishment after the takeover couldn't have hurt! It is nowhere near hostels in for instance Sweden or Copenhagen.
