Honestly, nothing.....

We had a fantastic stay at The White Swan. Everything was top rate, delightful room, great attentive staff and simply wonderful food. Amazing breakfasts, wonderful cake in the room each day - and truly special dinners, some of the best dishes that we have had for some time. A brilliant base to explore the wonders of the region. We'll definitely be back.

Limited alternative places to eat

It was quiet but within easy reach of the areas we wanted to visit. We stayed in self contained area with hot tub that was very welcome after a days walking

Nothing to say here - it was all very good.

Dinner was lovely, good wine selection and the food was delicious. The fish curry and fish and chips were both very nicely prepared and presented. The staff were so attentive and quick. Felt very well looked after. Breakfast was exceptional, highly recommend the Seahouses kipper! The room was clean, spacious and inviting, bed was comfortable and we loved the complimentary cake and tipple. Really lovely touches that made our stay very comfortable.

Everything. Lovely spacious room nicely decorated with large bathroom with shower and freestanding bath, tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk and chilled water available. Fresh cake was left in the room everyday which was a really nice touch and very welcome when we returned from our day out. The food at the White Swan is exceptional with a wide choice of beautifully presented meals and the breakfast menu is outstanding. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and I can fully recommend a stay or restaurant booking here we loved it.

A lovely getaway with a hot tub. Pub served outstanding food. Such a relaxing place

Would have liked 2 comfy chairs in the room. Both were uncomfortable. No where in bathroom to put your things when using them. A table for writing/sitting at is always nice.

Menus for both breakfast and dinner were extensive and imaginative. The food was delicious. Service very attentive and friendly. Our dog was made very welcome. Bright clean bathroom. Location very convenient for visiting both Holy Island and Bamburgh castle. The special touches of afternoon cakes and tipple were delightful especially as the cakes were delicious.

Lovely hotel, room was very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast choices were good, we tried several and they were delicious. Dining room was beautiful, food was excellent. All in all, great place to stay, would recommend to anyone.

Great food, great room and a warm welcome. Close to local attractions such as Bamburgh and Holy Island. And dog friendly with a bowl of fresh water always available. We really enjoyed our evening meal at the pub restaurant in particular.

The hosts were very welcoming and the room was extremely well appointed with better than expected facilities. There were all the usual coffee and tea facilities but we had freshly made cake on a stand under a glass dome and, in addition to both sparkling and none sparkling water, we had a small carafe of sloe gin. The restaurant had a wonderful selection of food and wine at great value prices and the breakfast, served by the owner, was exceptional. I would strongly recommend this hostelry if you are in the area for a holiday or simply travelling - just perfect!

Flies were annoying, fly spray would be good. Nothing else I didn't like.

The location close to attractions and it was also very quiet. The accommodation was beautiful with a comfy bed good facilities everything you would need. Be nice to have sofa but chairs were comfy as we just like to cuddle up. The accommodation was very clean and very well presented. The views were amazing as was the night sky the stars were out n there is very little light pollution.

We loved all the personal touches. The comfortable decoration and layout of the rooms, which were always warm. We were spoilt for choice with the restaurant menu and the food was splendid. The hosts and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. And the little extras like the cake and "tipple" left for out us were such a treat. All this and the lovely Northumbrian scenery too!
