Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIf you are easily disturbed by noise then ask for for a room not facing the cathedral . We were in room 123 . The noise from the air conditioning units outside the rooms windows was loud and very annoying.
The staff were friendly and keen to help. The table service in the bar was excellent. And the the bar food was superb. The bed in room 123 was large and comfortable also.

United KingdomBathroom was a bit ricketty / dated. Building work going on around us - builders on scaffolding outside our window at 7.30 am. but a short-term problem. Car park unavailable - we were not informed until we arrived. Nearby public car park was fine but added £19 to our 2 day stay.
Lovely old hotel just near the cathedral and great shopping. Staff welcoming, friendly and helpful. Good breakfast options. Comfortable.

United KingdomCheck in and check out approach. Receptionist was counting a lot of cash whilst I waited at the desk. It was a room with one person. Awkward queue outside the room like waiting for the headmaster. Unnecessary admin process at check out. Had to wait for the couple and child to finish writing a letter for the receptionist which was nothing to do with checking in or out. Waited half an hour to actually leave the hotel.
Lots of attention to detail. None of the shoddy decor often found in hotels. Felt very grand. Wanted for nothing as part of the actual stay.

United KingdomThe room we were originally given was really quite poor, small and with scaffolding covering the window and a very depressing outlook. It also had a connecting door to another room, which we know from bitter experience is not a good idea and we certainly had no need of one, We went straight down to Reception and within minutes were given a vastly superior room. The hotel was not full so I'm not sure why it couldn't have been given in the first place.
It was lovely to see the renovation of the hotel as we had stayed there last year and the decor etc. was now really super. The room we were eventually given was absolutely lovely, spacious, clean and with excellent facilities. The bar area was great and the staff attentive and friendly, it had a very good atmosphere to sit and have a drink and the range of cocktails was excellent. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient as were staff in the breakfast room. Breakfast was tasty although I would really have expected some fresh fruit on the buffet part.

United KingdomA few "teething problems" (e.g. no guest information in the room, TV not yet connected to a signal) but nothing that wasn't sorted out by reception. The main downside for us was the car park no longer being in use. It was a big attraction of the White Hart, being able to park right next to the hotel. But we did manage to find a parking spot not too far away (not always easy in Lincoln) and the concierge was very helpful.
Newly refurbished - to a very high standard. Lovely cocktail bar with friendly staff and a comfortable room with cathedral view. Nice breakfast too (though it seemed to take a while to come).

United KingdomNo free parking available but not sure if this is due to ongoing renovation? Council parking payable nearby which is around £20 for a 48 hr stay.
Excellent location, great atmosphere in bar during day/evening - clearly popular with locals. Second stay this year and just as good both times. Didn’t feel corporate, location fantastic, lovely atmosphere, good breakfast with quality ingredients and table service. Price was right. Friendly staff. The hotel feels loved.

CanadaThe hotel is a labyrinth of small corridors with lots of doors, which are not well signed. Even after a couple of days it was easy to get turned around in the hallways. As with all the places we have stayed on this trip, the bathroom and/or shower was rather small.
The location is amazing, right in the heart of the old city center. The room was nice, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.
