We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

First stay since the refurbishment. Much improved. I was in one of the refurbed rooms - very comfortable and very well equipped (nice area to sit and read by the window, nespresso machine gets a big thumbs up!) Breakfast was excellent. Would recommend highly.

United KingdomMy room was excellent. However it was on a side corridor and there was no signage saying that, so having driven four hours I walked to the end of a long corridor and had to walk back with my bags to find where my room was. Please put signage up for that side corridor!
Staff were lovely and were completely honest the minute I arrived about the fact the TVs and wifi weren't working and that I would be given £35 towards dinner as compensation. There were options for dinner and I went to their lovely restaurant, again staff were excellent and the food was delicious, with great choices. Would definitely come again.

Excellent friendly staff throughout the hotel . The small issues arising from refurbishment were fairly addressed by the offer of bar credit. The hotel is very dog friendly and there are different areas to suit individual preferences regarding space and noise levels.

United KingdomLack of car parking, which was available on other visits. No televisions working, although a beverage allowance was given to reflect this. Scaffolding and workmen; some noise of drilling etc during the day. No information folder in room. Staff during the day seemed really good. Very attentive and friendly. Dinner service not so good. Young staff, although pleasant, not really trained to the correct level. Extremely long wait for main course and dessert, in fact we gave up waiting for the dessert. Apparently there was a function for 150 on and the kitchen was struggling. This shouldn’t happen. Functions shouldn’t spoil the stay for residents. Breakfast good quality etc, but didn’t like the fact that you could choose one plate only on the continental. I like granola, plus the fresh fruit selection. The servings seemed small. Cooked breakfast which my husband had was good though.

United KingdomIf you are easily disturbed by noise then ask for for a room not facing the cathedral . We were in room 123 . The noise from the air conditioning units outside the rooms windows was loud and very annoying.
The staff were friendly and keen to help. The table service in the bar was excellent. And the the bar food was superb. The bed in room 123 was large and comfortable also.

United KingdomBathroom was a bit ricketty / dated. Building work going on around us - builders on scaffolding outside our window at 7.30 am. but a short-term problem. Car park unavailable - we were not informed until we arrived. Nearby public car park was fine but added £19 to our 2 day stay.
Lovely old hotel just near the cathedral and great shopping. Staff welcoming, friendly and helpful. Good breakfast options. Comfortable.
