The side light and the desk light didn't work. The restaurant was full and was unable to offer room service outside of a selection of 3 sandwiches, insult to be charged room service charge, however the rcar park was not charged for not being able to have dinner.

The room was hot due to the weather, and I could have done with a fan in the room. Yes, the bedroom was a little dated but only what to expect in a lovely old building.

The location was spot on, and the staff and service were great. Lots of beautiful features in this historical building. Great value for money.

I was disappointed with the room, It was smaller than I anticipated, as was the bathroom Nothing like he photos I had received. Not enough plug sockets.

Booked twin room , Every time cleaner came I had to move single beds apart always left as double ??. TV far to small for room size And remote control several buttons not working, Dressing gowns not wearable so hard , windows opened onto fire escape 1 had No lock windows only opened a short distance but person outside could use implement to hook items, Food menu not very good My wife had fish and chips Not good batter soggy, I had sirloin steak paid supplement The steak was cooked to my liking but the quality of the meat was poor , Not enough variation on menu. Bath Needs grab rail for oaps to step in bath

The bedroom was really warm due to the heating and bedding. There could be (potentially) more hot vegetarian options.

Room135 Very noisy from outside, which continued into the early to the early hours of the morning intermittently, some sort of fan noise. Reception staff not helpful when enquiring what the noise could have been, was told they're had been no previous complaints and were not aware of anything that could have been making the noise. although it seems the room is over the kitchens. Reception also couldn't give me any walking directions to Harlow Carr. IT Turned out that the walk started in Valley Park 3mins walk from hotel. No communication from reception staff when leaving.

Breakfast was good, staff in the breakfast room and bar helpful.

The lift is very slow and the bathroom was a bit of a tight space, but nothing to be done about that!

Breakfast was amazing. Very comfy bed, hot shower and friendly staff. If you don't have housekeeping do your room one day then they'll give you a £5 voucher for the bar, which I thought was very generous.

Room was tired and needed updating, cracked sink and leaking tap. Due to having a dog with us, we had to sit it the bar area and fetch breakfast from the main hall which was inconvenient as it was some distance. Our room was located a big distance from exit, which was also not convenient with a dog. Also charging £10 to park on the hotel grounds was annoying.

Distance from town was very convenient.

The double bed was small only 4'6" and the floor sloped but the bed wasn't leveled. And room service delivered a cold breakfast.
