Really pleased with my first stay at the Bunkhouse. Amazing value for money . Would stay there again

Lack of plugs to charge devices. Very small kitchen to prepare food in. More hooks in the bathroom, shower room would be helpful.

Great location to travel or walk from for the day. Friendly, helpful staff and lovely pub.

Maybe a bit cleaner common areas and lower bunk bed could do with a bit more od head height space( to be able to sit straight)

Good location, friendly staff, very comfy mattress. Great food at the pub, not cheap, but worth it.

Great value, friendly staff, excellent location for Blencathra etc. Very quiet on a weeknight this time of year (April). Food at the pub is excellent. Would stay again

I would definitely stay at the bunkhouse again, largely because it adjoined the excellent pub.

The bunkhouse rooms were very small especially to accommodate 4 adults. Very little space making it impossible for four canoeists to change inside at the same time. Also, there was no dry room which is a serious omission and would have been terrible had the weather been continuously wet. The showers were excellent but no stools provided on which to sit or place clothes.

The bunkhouse was part of the White Horse Inn which was excellent, serving top quality food and superb real ales at very fair prices. The staff were brilliant.

Limited plug sockets in the room. Walls thin and could hear people in adjoining rooms. As a male on my own I was uncomfortable sharing the toilet/shower room with everyone else (women and children). Got in there early to avoid!

It’s a bunkhouse and you get what you pay for - for me, on my own with my dog and a walk up Blencathra it was perfect. Very comfortable bed and heating worked well in the room. If you’re happy with basic I would recommend and would stay again.

Showers were a bit temperamental but good once we worked them out the oven needed a good deep clean but only used it once or twice the hobs were really good microwave and kettle there’s also washing machine but we didn’t use it

The ease of having kitchen facilities to cook our own food showers and toilets close by and location ideal for what we wanted

Can't really complain about anything at £16 per person per night!

Good location, not far from Keswick. Staff in the pub were very helpful and accommodating. Room was basic but it was great value. Showers, toilets and kitchen all kept clean and in working order.

You have to bring your own bedding or rent it for 5 pounds.

The food in the pub was delicious and allergen friendly. The rooms were warm and comfortable and stayed dry despite the constant rain. While we didn't take advantage of the kitchen, that's a great benefit as well.

Fantastic value for money. Six of us in the bunkhouse giggling like school girls. It wasn't a team building exercise, but it sure became one! Great stay. Great staff. Will certainly recommend / stay again. Thank you.

The only negative was the check-in/bar staff who were extremely rude.

Good atmosphere. Seems to be used by regular hikers/climbers who after work on a Friday set off for the White Horse to be used as a pit stop/base camp for early Saturday morning ascents. The facilities were clean and the room was warm. The bathroom and kitchen were also of a good standard. For the price paid I'd 100% recommend.

Got quite hot on the plastic backed mattresses, pillows were quite hard. A66 was noisy quite a lot of the night, even with earplugs. Would still stay there again though due to all the positives.

Showers are hot and powerful, rooms are toasty warm, good dining space, easy access straight up to the fells, and there's the pub if you don't fancy cooking (lunch was great!)

More plug sockets and hooks in the bedroom. Regular change of tea-towel and provision of dustpan and brush in the kitchen. No soap in the dispensers in the bathrooms. Wi-fi sketchy in the dining room.

Excellent location - although those with mobility issues may struggle up the stairs. Bedroom warm - a good thing. Good to have a fridge, oven, microwave and hobs available for use. Pub food very good. Good price.

Rubber mattresses, walls so thin I could hear people next door eating crisps (and of course talking), had to go outside in the cold to get to the toilet, no comfy area for relaxing, just a couple of kitchen tables and benches.

Great location, fabulous views, and the pub next door is lovely.

The walls are very thin and we were woken by some young men who had been drinking who were loudly talking about unpleasant things next door- we have children so that was a real downside for us, but not sure what can be done. Ear plugs next time!

The room, kitchen and bathroom were clean, warm and well organised.
