The room wasn’t great, everything seemed to be on the slant and the room and bathroom were cold. The shower wasn’t great and water flooded the bathroom floor when having a shower.

The location was great, staff were friendly and breakfast lovely.

I had trouble with the keys in the locks.

The fact our key to the outer door didn't work . We rang the bell banged on the door and left a message on answer phone. Another 2 guests arrived back just after us and there key didn't work either. But was just told there was nothing wrong with locks or keys Basically it was our error.

We spent one night at The Westminster Hotel. Check in was effective and quick.Our room was spacious, clean, warm and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Parking was an added bonus. We look forward to returning

Being super critical I didn’t particularly like the coffee, although my wife loved her decaf tea, and I would have liked brand sauces, e.g Heinz/ HP for the breakfast but I am a snob when it comes to that type of thing but otherwise all good.

We had an issue when we first arrived which was dealt with efficiently and swiftly and which we felt went a little above and beyond. Also had an issue with our initial booking (my fault) which was dealt with the same way so top marks. Breaky, can’t complain at all. Order taken and food served promptly and warm. Room and place in general was warm and comfortable without feeling overheated or cold. Great location for a walk in the Buxton gardens/park, Opera house and an easy stroll into the town.

Our room was clean, warm, bright and well decorated, the room overlooked the park and the view of the park and surrounding hills was lovely. The breakfast was hot and well cooked. Excellent location for exploring Buxton and surrounding area. Highly recommend!

The owner and staff were in no way friendly which disappointed me as this was a small intimate property. It was more of a B&B than a hotel. The TV was on a chest of drawers to the right of the bed making it very difficult for both of us to see the TV. The breakfast was from 8am to 9am which was very early when you’re on holiday.

The location of the property was great and very central. It was good value for money. The breakfast was lovely.

I was not very happy that after we checked in at full price it reduced to over half for the same :night stay so will not book in advance again so not good value for money and as very good customers of booking . Com may reconsider future stays

They were decorating a room on our floor and the smell of paint was over powering. They should have mentioned this on booking.com.

The location was amazing. Very easy to walk into town. The lake was very pretty with plenty of Canadian geese etc.

Would have loved better/bigger/more pillows. They were two very thin pillows each and they felt very small - sadly no support, either for sleeping or for propping up. But the bed itself was very comfy and the sheets felt wonderful!

The only problem we had was that the room became quite cold in the late afternoon

The hotel was in an excellent position for town, with a lovely view from the dining room & our bedroom.Paul was friendly and gave us the names of a couple of restaurants in town, of which the Chinese was excellent. The full breakfast was fresh & tasty, with a great service. Our room overlooked the park and we enjoyed sitting in the bay window, watching the world go by.
