The room was maybe a bit dated and making coffee meant getting the kettle out of a cupboard and plugging it in to a socket that was not very convenient along with milk being in a fridge in the hall.

Great setting right on the waterfront. Food and service were good pub standards. Room was comfortable and had everything you needed.

Needed the window open , room very warm but that is only my preference as I prefer a cooler room.

£15 for a Bacon Sandwich option at breakfast seemed a bit steep. The room information sheet and the blackboard outside both said food was served until 9pm on a Sunday, however when we arrived to eat at 8.40ish we were told the kitchen had closed at 08.30. The sheets also smelt a bit "bleachy".

Lovely stay - my third visit. Room was clean and bathroom spotless with nice toiletries, staff were very friendly and welcoming and breakfast was great - very tasty. Nice range of beers and wines. Wish the weather had been nicer so we could have sat outside.

It is an historic building, so narrow stairs up to the rooms.

A great location, by the river. We spent two nights there, meeting up with friends. We had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant on the first night, with excellent, friendly service. Also, finished up both evenings in the bar, cosy, with a real fire.

Beautiful clean room modern decor. Big free standing bath loads of hot water plus a walk in shower. Pub downstairs had excellent menu. Reasonable price. Pleasant location by the river. Friendly efficient staff.

The whole experience was excellent

This is a fantastic place. The setting is wonderful, looking out over the river. We were lucky enough to be there when there was a high spring tide and it was impressive!! The view from our room was beautiful. The staff were really lovely; helpful and relaxed but attend our needs. We ate in the restaurant the first night and enjoyed a very good meal. The town of Totnes was wonderful; full of very unusual shops, good cafes and excellent restaurants. We visited Greenway house( former family home of Agatha Christie) it is a real must do!

Great location in centre of Totnes. Good for visiting shops and lovely scenic walk which began just across the road. Very helpful staff showed us the walk which runs along the river climbing as you leave Totnes and returns on a lower path. Allowed to leave car while we walked.

Nothing, was all perfect!

The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly, everybody working seemed to know what they were doing and were very kind and considerate which I appreciated very much. Free parking & a short walk into the centre, nice rooms clean and spacious. And again very kind staff! Keep up the good work!

Cauliflower & sweet potato curry one evening was lacking in both cauliflower and sweet potato and was rather soupy, but it was still tasty and the chocolate & forest fruits bread & butter pudding made up for it.

Cosy, friendly pub & hotel. Superb cooked breakfasts with plenty for vegetarians. I felt very welcome and relaxed as a single (woman) guest. Great range of beers and whiskeys too. Lovely location by the river and a 5 minute walk from the centre.

On booking, just check if the room has access to both sides of the bed if you need it.

Lovely place. Very close to Totnes but quiet spot by the river. We had dinner and breakfast, both very nice. Highly recommended
