Overall maintenance has been neglected in recent years. Paintwork was chipped and carpets worn. Multiple internal stairs between floor tiers is a hazard. Breakfasts were decidedly average, with limited food selections.

Location was good, even though our room did not benefit from the view.

Due to an ankle injury I requested a room on the first floor as the lift was broken.I was then told the lift had been mended.On arrival we were told our allocated room had flooded and we had been moved to the top floor,but the lift broken again!!!!The lift in the bar area was working ,but were was the second lift????Access from the garage entrance very poor.

The room was so small for a couple top floor, small window, was quite dark. Have seen pictures from single traveller's similar room. We had been sent message from booking company that we could upgrade before we went. I rang the hotel and told in unfriendly manner by staff member and was told could not upgrade, but was still messages after telephone call that could upgrade from booking company. We would stay again if room was different.

The location near the town. Train station very close. The beach just across the road. Clean towels, sheets, clean bathroom. Staff friendly.

It was very basic, I didn’t feel it was clean enough, the shower was a bit groggy and it could do with a bit of an update. The parking was quite poor, and tricky to get in and out maybe could look at some more parking for the customers.

I liked the location, it was easy accessible to walk down to the Beach front.

The room, customer services was bad

Whatever Was showed in the pic, the room was much smaller and nothing like the pic. We booked two rooms as we were four friends, so my other friends got little better room nearly matching to the pic but my room was small and nothing like the pic.

The room was good sized with lovely view of the beach however unfortunately the bathroom wasn’t clean and the bin wasn’t emptied and the room was not hoovered properly. The floor seemed to lean to one side so that was a bit weird like when you’re on a ship but not too annoying. The hotel is quite dated apart from the reception and the bar.

The location of the hotel is great, right by the beach and the train station if you need it. The receptionist was really friendly and helpful. We got an upgrade as well so had beautiful beach view.

Parking. It’s a thing in Cornwall generally… but it was difficult. The garage was full… I think the hotel could alert patrons.

Great location, I really enjoyed the shared spaces to lounge informally. Breakfast was great too.

The heating wasn't always on when I thought that it should be and I was a little cold. The ensuite was a little dated and just in general the decor could do with a freshening up.

The location is excellent, just across from a beautiful beach and a short walk to the centre of St. Ives. The lounge area was a nice place to sit and look out from. My room was quiet and the bed was comfortable.

The decor was very tired, could do with a brightening up. I was a single traveller so I had a small room/bed which is fine but it was very dark and gloomy, my view was of the parking garage at the back of the hotel which isn't great.

Location was spot on, staff were very friendly and helpful. If I stayed again I would pay extra for a better room and view

We were given a room that was damp, and the carpet was wet and smelled horrible with stains on the carpet. The duvet and pillows smelt damp, and the bedding wasn't changed upon service request. It was only made. Walls were also wet. We stayed in the room the Friday and Saturday as it was late, and we complained on the Sunday morning and were given a bigger room with a bay view which was much better and saved our trip to an extent. Unfortunately, it was our final night, so we didn't get to enjoy it that much. We do wish we had been offered a bit more from the manager, like a breakfast or dinner to make up for the awful conditions, but they didn't. Maybe think about doing that in the future? With money tight, it was a bargain, and I booked it but feel I was given a damp room on purpose as a reflection of the price! A trip to give my girlfriend a break after losing her father in February. We aren't people that like to kick up a stink, but we did feel we could have been offered a partial refund or something along those lines as the room was clearly extremely damp on our arrival that night, so we do feel this would of been known anyway and the staff should of cared more, and put us in a nicer room that was dry. But clearly didn't report it.

The location is the best ever very close to the beach, restaurant area also very good with view.

Very old facilities (the windows didn’t close properly), had to wait more than 15min in the bathroom for the hot water to start running, basic equipment, not enough choices for breakfast

Low water pressure in shower. Water not hot enough in sink or shower. Towel bars were unheated. We understood a continental breakfast would be included. We had to pay 10 pounds for breakfast. However, it was very good.

Very clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was very good. Dining room views are lovely.

I booked under the impression that the room would overlook the bay, which it did not, and the staff was either unwilling or unable to move us to a different room. There is off street parking, but it's dirty and your vehicle gets covered in pigeon droppings. Also, if someone parks incorrectly, you get blocked in, or are unable to park. If you want food there, make sure you book ahead.

Convenient to downtown. Close to the harbour, but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle.
