Not too keen on the dominant tv screen in the reception room , particularly when playing some irritating music channel in the evening. It was quite a maze of corridors & quite easy to get lost. Understandable given its original purpose and it was fun trying not to get very lost.

Perfect location for a University event. We were very close by. The grounds were lovely with beautiful views over the Strait. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast and the meal we ate in the restaurant were excellent. The bar was a cosy space with pleasant staff who never made us feel we had to rush away.

We had three rooms between the four of us and, sadly, three of us found the beds uncomfortable (hard and springs felt).

Excellent location for a visit to the university; beautiful views across the Strait. Staff so helpful and friendly. Great choice for breakfast, well cooked. Fabulous meet of local Celtic musicians made our night!

I think it was a little expensive for what it was.

The property was as expected , basic but the room was really well set up and was clean and the view from the dining room was AMAZING.

I didn't like how confusing the hotel was to navigate, it took us the 3 days we were there to really grasp if we were going the right way, the hotel is over a number of floors and different wings, the reception is upstairs past a smaller reception, i also didn't like that the "bar" didn't have anything on draught, everything was from a bottle, but the staff were very friendly and helpful

Breakfast was decent, fresh and the staff serving were helpful friendly and attentive, was a bit confusing on first day as there are two entrances and wasn't sure who to report to, and a couple of the staff who didn't see that we did report to someone then asked us again for our room number but was a good breakfast over all

Our room was on the top floor and, despite having to climb the last few stairs beyond the reaches of the lift, the view made up for that BUT, being a very old building, the windows were not tiptop, ie perhaps a bit more attention to cleaning of the leading and the woodwork within the frames.

Breakfast was plentiful and staff very helpful, eg if we asked for poached eggs rather than the scrambled which were on offer. We only ate dinner once but it was tasty and enjoyable. The radiators in the room were efficient and quick to warm the room up after we’d turned them off overnight.

The breakfast could easily be improved by offering unsweetened muesli, better quality bread and cold cuts and cheese.
