Although the bed was comfortable, it was a small double.

A beautiful location, we found this an ideal place to stay as we walked Hadrains Wall, which was about 40 mins away by car. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The food was superb, and the room was comfortable.

When we arrived we were made very welcome and shown our lovely rooms. The bar served good draught beers and the menu was probably the best I have seen. All I can say about the food that it was exceptional and some of the best I have ever had. Quality, taste, portions and presentation all exceptional, I got to thank the chef afterwards. Slept like a log in a comfy bed. Breakfast was another treat - Eggs Royale - outstanding.

Hardt to fault really, but thought £110 B+B per night per person a bit steep.

Breakfast choices were good, particularly enjoyed the full 'English' fried breakfast. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with tea/coffee making facility. Location was rural and quiet, with nice beer garden. The restaurant/bar food menu was good, enjoyed the three evening meals we had.

Our only quarm , (though everything else made up for it) was the lack of toiletries in the room for the price charged. One tiny tiny body wash and shampoo (we were on motorbikes so travelling light and all other accommodation toiletries had been plentiful) also the shower control in our room was broken ... didn't realise until it was being used!

Such a stunning location...Still in awe!! Fabulous place, spotless and staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Good choice on both evening and breakfast menus, food was delicious too.

A real quality place to stay. The Inn is kept to a very high standard with lovely furnishings. The Inn is set in a lovely location and had plenty of parking for guests. Our host was exceptional, very friendly and attentive when needed. Food was excellent. Our room was very comfortable, clean and quiet.

Location. Also, food was excellent and bed was comfy. On 3nd night , arrived at 1800hrs to find table reserved for meal by open fire. Perfect location for visiting Hadrians wall.

All the staff were excellent. I thought the food menu was a bit on the expensive side but it was well worth the money, as we dined there for two nights. I like my real ale and there were two to choose from and they were well kept. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place and I’ll happily stay there again next year on my annual pilgrimage from South back to my roots in the North. Great base for walkers to experience the history and walk part of Hadrians Wall.

Lovely clean and comfortable room overlooking the River. Jennifer and Robert were welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. We had two evening meals and the food was outstanding. Hotel well situated for visiting Hadrians wall.

The whole experience and only downfall was that I couldnt get 2 nights .. This is my 2nd visit and wont be my last .. Evening meal was fantastic .. the rooms overlooking the river so so relaxing ... Breakfast good choice and most generous..
