Useful for a stop over but lacked charm
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Executive Double Room
    • Stayed 1 night

The view from our room windows was over an area that the hotel seemed to be using to dump their old chairs - a bit of screening would go a long way to making it more pleasant. Hotel was catering for large tour groups, and felt a bit motel like - lacking in charm. Breakfast was cleared away on the dot of 9.30 am (?) even though we hadn't yet had our hot food.

The room was large, comfortable and easy access outside with our dog

Unusual set up as the hotel is in separate buildings which is not a problem but an umbrella maybe need at times.

Nice bar and restaurant and the food is of good quality and choice, the staff are very helpful and polite. this hotel is great for me as I travel for work and my office is nearby but it is also great for visiting Stratford or Warwick and further a field

Carpet in room was old with worn holes, needed updating. Breakfast was average, quickly ran out of standard food eg bread and fruit.

A nice country location, a short drive from Stratford. Room was large with comfy bed and pillows.

Bar staff at the main bar struggled to understand some of the drinks being ordered, were slow, visibly looked like they were not happy having to work, and in one case quite abrupt and rude. Breakfast staff were few and far between, appeared disorganised and many ancillary items, such as preserves and sauces, were not prepared or not available. Damage to the mattress in the room caused a minor injury which could have been a lot worse. We are talking to the hotel directly about this matter.

The waiting staff and team at the wedding we attended were excellent, as was the wedding breakfast food!

Had a WhatsApp message, email and phone call to remind us to pay the bill before departure which felt excessive given it wasn't even close to check out time yet. Maybe take payment on check in if non-payment is an issue rather than this way round to pester all guests?

Nice hotel next to a national trust site. Room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean, and nicely decorated, quirky not your usual bog standard room. Comfy bed. Lots of parking. Bar and restaurant were nice, good food and good service. Dog friendly too with lovely meadow to exercise dogs on site.

Very peaceful and rural stay on the way to London
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Classic Double Room
    • Stayed 1 night

A bad smell came from the drains outside the courtyard and up from the sink. We just kept the plug in. The settee bed needed replacing; it was old and dirty-looking. The stairs and bedroom carpet needed a clean. It had what looked like sheep/dog poo walked all around the bed. We kept our shoes on, which was a shame because we didn't feel at home. For the price, breakfast should have been included.

The location was perfect for our little stop-off on the way to London. We wanted to visit Charlecote NT, which is just across the road. We had what looked like a little house with a front door, stairs leading up and then a bedroom with an en suite off the landing. It was roomy and bright. The decor was old-fashioned/country house style, which was in keeping with the building, but it needed a statement headboard, gold chandelier, plain curtains, and new carpet to make it a wow-factor room. It could be done easily. The bathroom had some cracked tiles, but it was clean and functional.

My husband goes to bed earlier than I do, and although there was a dimmer switch connected to the main light, it didn't seem to dim the lights in the corner where the kettle was and there was no separate control for them, so the room was still quite bright. This is only minor, though, as we had no other issues.

The staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful, even at 11.45 pm when our key card didn't work, as someone came out to let us in the room! The setting is wonderful and the food was excellent, including the breakfast. Our room was spacious and warm, which was a bonus after coming home late from a very chilly air show. There was a spare plug in heater, ironing board, thick duvet, iron and fan in the cupboard if needed. We will definitely visit again if we are in the area.

Pleasant, comfortable room in a charming hotel surrounded by beautiful countryside.
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Executive Double Room
    • Stayed 1 night

The room we stayed in had a strange open-plan bathroom area, with a closed toilet - but there's only one light switch for both parts of the bathroom, so the only way to visit the lavatory in the night is to (a) take a torch or (b) illuminate the entire room and wake up your partner. The shower was weak and took abround 5 minutes to warm up and the standing floor fan had a bit of a DIY stand which was worryingly wobbly. Small downsides in an otherwise overwhelmingly positive experience!

The hotel is an old converted farmhouse and barn so it's split into different buildings which was great, because we heard almost nothing of the large wedding party happening on the night we visited. The room was (mostly, see below) super-comfortable, the staff were nice and the cooked breakfast buffet was hot and tasty with plenty of fruit and cereal options also. The location is beautiful and surrounded by some of the most quintessentially English countryside imaginable.

The breakfast. No butter, mushrooms or hashbrowns. Scrambled egg was watery. Only one coffee machine working resulting in having to wait in a queue. No milk available for cereal until 9.20am - 10 minutes before breakfast ended! More staff needed!

Let down by some tatty and dated areas. Would really benefit from some investment. Falls short of the anticipated wow factor. Asked for vinegar to go with fish and chips but didn't have any left... minor point, but disappointing.

Large, comfortable room. Plenty of parking. Lovely village location. The food was good value.
