Restaurant had no atmosphere - no background music - ate both nights on our own as staff said only one chef and bookings had to be staggered! Would have preferred to dine with others !

Ordered a cheese board and a couple things that were stated on the menu, weren't on the board. Not a big deal, but still a small issue.

The views around the hotel were brilliant and staff were so friendly. Room was cosy, clean and comfy. Given a complimentary couple drinks as it was my partners birthday, which was a nice touch. Food was also very good, which for the price should be expected, as it was quite expensive.

Staff should be more aware of the history of this hotel in order to answer guests questions.

Stunning scenery from every angle because the hotel is elevated within the village. Welcoming staff and they'd already taken our suitcases upstairs to our rooms on the top floor.

We last visited this hotel 15 years ago and we found the interiors were much the same as before. The public rooms need updating as do aspects of the spacious room we booked. The front and rear gardens could be exploited more for the wonderful views to the stunning landscape surrounding the hotel

The music in the bar and dining room was too loud and not to everyone’s taste. The language of the dining room staff could be a bit more professional; ladies of a certain age feel uncomfortable being addressed as “guys”

The manager upgraded our room at no extra cost because a room with an ensuite bathroom was available. Plans are in place to upgrade many parts of the hotel which are looking a bit “tired”, mainly the communal rooms downstairs. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Absolutely nothing except the low cloud spoiling the views!

A beautiful hotel in an idyllic setting in the Yorkshire Dales. We booked the Ivelet room which overlooked the village green. The bathroom was the biggest ever with the tub located in the middle. Very comfortable bed. Great food and very friendly staff.

Wardrobe rattled every time you walked across floor.

We thought breakfast was not that good for a 5* the full English was very small, almost like a child’s portion. And the eggs Benedict sauce tasted like it was melted butter. This is no reflection on the staff at all. They were absolutely amazing and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable and nice sized rooms.

We loved the location and the view from our room was stunning.

Bedroom walls too thin. I could hear my neighbour snoring and had a poor night’s sleep because of it. Dinner expensive. Not enough staff at weekend.
