Above all, on a night when Tom Jones was at the open air theatre, the Black Swan was unique in offering acceptable prices. The room was stylishly decorated and the bathroom well equipped, even if the wash basin was miniscule. The staff were unfailingly friendly.

There were too many steep stairs to get up to my room 6 , carrying a case and 2 bags. A biscuit would have been nice on the Tray with the coffee or tea as there was no breakfast.

Room and en suite spotlessly clean and airy. Comfortable bed. As I was visiting my Mother in Hospital the Black Swan was close to the bus route no. 10 to get there and to the Station and shops.

Bed was a little hard, food would have been a welcome bonus but understand they don't have a kitchen.

We had a young group upstairs after a few quite nights, it was a bit bangy and loud. And the fridge wasnt great in the room but it was only a can fridge.

Bed was really comfy. Room was great size, prices in the pub were great. Michelle was a lovely lady and always asked if you needed anything. Would really recommend this hotel. We had the queen room.

Hosts were lovely, room was so clean and cosy, perfect for a couple. All the right facilities were there, a fan, tea/coffee, irons and a mini fridge.

The floor boards of our family rooms were quite creaky, otherwise everything was fine - plenty of towels, excellent en-suite facilities, quiet (two floors above the public bar area).

Breakfast was not provided but that was fine as the perfect location meant we were a short distance from several eating places on the sea front.

Room 6 was up several flights of small narrow stairs which is difficult to get luggage to and hard to negotiate unless you are young and sprightly. . The room is very small with very little space to walk around the bed once your luggage is in there.. In the evening the beer garden was full of very loud local foreign nationals who were very noisy and raucously shouted and yelled at each other relentlessly, in a language unknown to me,until well after 11pm, making it impossible to get to sleep. The parking is about 5 mins walk away and costs £9 a night, although if lucky you can get street parking between 6pm-9am free. No breakfast is available- it’s room only which is fine as long as you are aware of this and tea and coffee are available in the room.

The room was nice, comfortable bed and had everything we needed. Staff were polite and friendly, we had drinks in the pub after a gig and they even stayed open longer for us.

didn’t have double glazing window so you could hear everything going on outside especially at 3/4am when people are drunk. Also cold water was not working for me & only had hot water but wasn’t too fussed. However the room i stayed in.. whenever the people upstairs used the toilet you could hear the toilet water come down as the pipes are right next to the bed, not a huge issue however not ideal when trying to get to sleep as was quite loud but other than that, amazing stay.

was very centre of scarborough so most things were 5-15 minute walk away. Staff are super friendly & bed was very comfy too & had a very home feel to the bedroom. Also it is a pub which is nice add to it aswell! Such a nice stay & 10 minute walk from beach/castle :)
